ok i need some help .. what would the ideal slow drying temperature be? (i want to slow dry in order to cut curing time) and what would be beter.. to leave full plants or mostly full plants and hang them or hang individual buds..?

also if you dry em more it wont necessarily mean a better cure, curing not only gets moisture out but it also evenly distributes the moisture throughout the bud without making it dry and brittle, drying to long will just give you dry dry buds and probly same harshness, just cure man...dont skimp on the MOST IMPORTANT step in the growing process, please

im didn't intend to skip curing.. i wanted to dry the bud slower so it would be less harsh.. and then cure until i could cure for a long while.. i sell small amounts to good friends and i usually let a crop sit for a year before it's sold to age it a bit.. to have a bit better taste and smell.. but would 15 degrees C be sufficient with a humidity of 60% be good for drying and having the product crured in jars?.. because i will devote a small room to doing so and i need to know what would be perfect..

yes that would be fine, keep temps around 50 or 60 and low humidity, as low as you can get is best, also keep it very dark in there, i personally would just let it dry for 3 or 4 days and when the buds become almost cripsy, stick em in jars, in a day theyll get some moisture back and you can dump out and let dry more or leave em its ur choice good luck bro

I understand why we have to go through the drying process but what is the purpose of curing?

to make the bud nice throughout the only thing, like u know when u have fresh buds and break em up and they stick together all weird like? its cause all the moisture is in the middle so when u squeeze its like squeezin a rockwool cube filled with water, all your left with is a ball of yellow stuff, well with weed same deal you need to let the moisture go throughout the bud so when they break up they can break up nice and fine 2 smoke it you know, also taste and smoothness, fresh buds = harsh buds 1 month cured bud = smooth, clean, tasty buds hope this helps :peace:

So drying is to get rid of most of the moisture & curing allows the remaining moisture to spread through the buds evenly so it doesnt become crispy?

Another thing: many growers claim that the longer you leave the buds to cure the better the taste & the better the high. How does curing longer improve the taste, high & THC? Im just trying to work out what happens within the buds to make it better.

Also what is the minimum time you cure your buds for?

absolute minimum time is 2 weeks, after that the buds are still harsh though but i usually will get rid of some after 2 week cure, a PROPER cure though is a month, 4 weeks minimal to have really really smooth smoke. as for better taste and high, yes, curing your weed will give it a much better smoke, smoother smoke and plainly a higher smoke, not neccesarily cause the weed is better from curing, personally i dont beleive by curing your thc % go up, i think that when u smoke a wet bud, u have to keep incinerating and incinerating to get any smoke, doing that kills cannabinoids (so does a regular use of a lighter) but not as badly as when u got a wet bud and your just torching it to get high, so thats why i think it gets you higher (my opinion im not an expert man) im stoned and rambling now i lost my train of thought but yes curing helps get moisture all throughout the bud so its nice a fluffy (or dense) however you like it, just so its not crumbly or so sticky you cant break it up
