^^^^^^you ain't kidding about that bitch being a cal/mag hog.....just watch the new growth and you'll be fine grower.
The first time I had the cal mag issue was 2 weeks ago, I added 1 tbsp of Epsom salt to my water and things were fine until 2 days ago when I noticed the yellowing again, so this time I added 3 tbsp, if that doesn't fix things I'm just gonna have to buy some CALMAG from the hydro store, I read in other places of AK strains being magnesium hogs so yea. Will keep you guys updated, the new growth look nice and green for now, this is also the problem with using bottled water but my tap has chloramine so my options are limited!

Just a quick note: as far as measurements are concerned, the Grand AK is 6 inches tall, 20 in long and 12 in wide....short stocky bitch!

So I've been sick as fuck the past few days, barely had time to peek in on the girls, but from what I saw the Purple Cadillac has made a lot of progress, the leaves it is now putting out actually look normal which is a good sign. The Grand AK is growing like a weed haha. Ill have some new pics up for you guys tomorrow, gotta do some pruning, the AK is so bushy no light is getting through to the soil at all so I'm kinda worried bout mold, so I'm gonna do a little chopping. Taking clones has been delayed and honestly may not happen this round, I can always get more from the dispensary.

Week 4 Day 3

Alright so here is a picture update, the plants will be receiving PH'ed Spring Water and Epsom Salt or CAL-MAG(if I get a chance to pick it up) at least til we switch into flowering which I am hoping to be able to do between the 18th and 25th of this month. I turned the 150 HPS on over the Grand AK she is outgrowing the light radius of the 300 watt LED, I have the option of putting another 300 watt LED in here and taking the 2 150 HPS out, what do you guys think? I added the HPS because I figured more red spectrum would be great during flowering. I thinned the Grand AK out a bit, took off some of the lower most growth that was barely seeing any light, now more energy can be focused in better areas. ANY input is greatly appreciated!

I notice you are running your girl at 85ºF as well. How is she liking it? This is what Prosource suggested for growing with LEDs and I have had success with it. Looks like you are as well.

Yea I've gotten a lot of good input, I'm not able to use the tap water here so that has caused a lot of issues but this is the learning process, just gotta grow forward and learn as much as I can! Thanks for checking in!

Anyone see any difference in growth with the LED's? stalk? speed, width? heat? Im just curiuos how they compare to a T5 solution.

My temp in the grow tent varies depending on the weather outside, I don't really use the heat in my apartment so lights on the temp goes from anywhere between 75-85 F, cannabis plants thrive in the wild under temperatures sometimes reaching into the mid 90's, the trick is to keep the roots cool, my intake blows right onto the pots I have the plants in so they stay cool!!! At night some times the temp drops down to around 61 degrees in the tent, I have not noticed any kinds of problems with the temperature changes between dark and light hours, they are growing quickly, especially the Grand AK, if I were to have let it just grow strait up without any training I have no doubt she would be 2 - 2.5 feet tall.

Ive actually put clones under 1k lights. they did fine.. as long as the temps , humidity, and nutes are dialed in and consistent, they love the light..
I agree, but you can't keep them very close to the 1k lights because it will stress them out due to the light intensity, gotta bring the lights slowly closer!

There are many great LED or LED combo grows under this section full of info and photos where you can judge for yourself, but from my experience so far with LED, I have noticed the plants don't seem to stretch as much but that may be due to how close you can keep the LED to the top of the canopy. In my tent, my LED light seems to raise the temp about 5-10 degrees without the intake and exhaust on so that is significantly less than HPS/MH. Personally I think that LED/EDFL(induction) lighting is gonna be the way of the future!

On another note I will have some new pictures up for you guys possibly today, but at latest tomorrow, I would snap some now but I just got finished with my daily LST regiment so they are not looking as pretty as when they are standing strait up haha, gorgeous still but not the same. Hope everyone is having a great grow and thanks for tuning in! ABOUT 2 weeks til we switch over to flowering, hopefully I can train this Grand AK out to where I want her to be before that time frame is up!

Looking good, I'm mixing some nutrients for my ladies in veg at the moment, thinking of doing some LST after seeing this. Excited to see your results. I'll be watching :-)

LST is the way to go, I feel so much more connected to the plants though when I spend so much time training them to do exactly what I want, so far the training is going good but I am a little worried I am not gonna get the Grand AK to the point I want it to be before the end of the month deadline I've set for myself to switch over to flowering. LST is constant work, every day I do a little bit, even if its nothing extreme, just tightening loose strings and such. On another note I am thinking of moving them into bigger pots, the only issue is the dial rods I have going through the pot are gonna have to be moved into a new pot, which means a lot of work making sure all the strings are in place again. Anyways, thanks for stopping by, your grow is looking great!

I find myself removing a lot of undergrowth with all this LST going on, since I am getting close to the flowering point of the grow, I don't want the plant focusing energy on the little tiny buds that seems to pop up way outside of the light range, in previous a previous grow, I waited too late to get rid of this stuff and ended up stealing too much energy away from the plant, so here's to preventative maintenance :bigjoint:

Week 5 Day 3

So I know I said I was only going to be watering with strait PH'ed water til flowering but I gave the girls a 1/4 dose of nutes, basically just for the additional Cal and Mag but everything looks fine, slight clawing on the Grand AK but no burning so everything is gonna be ok. Before flowering I am thinking about a good leeching(not flush), just so I can make sure there is no salt build up, I have been feeding with 3 TBSP of Epsom Salts for the past 6 waterings and I know that kills some microbial growth so I just wanna get everything settled for flowering. Purchasing some CAL-MAG PLUS this coming Friday along with a carbon filter, 2x 6in clipon fans, some flowering nutes, and a PPM meter. this should get me through until harvest. I know the Veg stage pics are not as enjoyable as seeing some flowering girls but hey, Here are a couple pics!

everything seems solid grower, nice job so far.........I would follow Endurrox's lead and user fabric pots and those green Velcro straps as a simple Lst system: very easy to adjust and apply /sticks anywhere on the pot without damaging it!

Thanks for the motivation and advice bro, if I don't transfer into fabric pots which is what I am seriously thinking about I will definitely be using them next grow!

on another note I took out the 2 x 150 hps and replaced them with another 300 watt pro series quad band LED light!!!the lights are now about 6inches above the canopy!!! Now I just gotta makes sure my temps stay above 70 for daytime hours! Will give a bigger update and photos tomorrow, we are just about 2 weeks away from flowering guys!!!

Photo dump, only under pure LED now! They both received a lot of training this morning, some undergrowth pruning as well especially on the Purple Cadillac, everything seems pretty set into place for flowering, the branches on the edges of the plant have about 3-5 inches to grow before they touch the sides of the tent so we are looking right on track for an end of the month switch!

Week 5 Day 6

Well guys, tomorrow I get to pick up the much needed equipment for the flowering process, here is what I need to purchase.

-ONA GEL ( gonna make a DIY ONA Bucket instead of carbon filter for now)
-15 ft 6 in Ducting
-2 to 1 Adapter for 6 in ducting
- Superthrive
- Perlite
- Fox Farm Light Warrior
- Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy
- Cal-Mag Plus or Calimagic
- General Hydroponics Maxi-Bloom
- Clearex

Hoping to keep it under $150, tomorrow will mark the 2 weeks til flowering in my timeline!! And now for some explanation on why I am purchasing what. ONA Gel of course for the ONA bucket, the ducting is for my passive intake exhaust, Gonna flip my 220 CFM inline fan that is on intake now to exhaust and run both exhaust fan with ducting into the ONA Bucket. I want to transplant both plants into a 5 Gallon Bucket so I am getting the Light Warrior and Perlite to mix with my remaining Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil I have stored away. Its gonna take a lot of time to get everything in place again after the transplant, gotta tie down all the branches, run my wooden rods through the new pots in the exact same spots, I have a lot of work ahead to prepare for flowering but its gonna be an awesome time! The nutrients are self explanatory and the Clearex is because I wanna Flush before flowering and start running the bloom nutes. Any ideas/suggestions appreciated!

Slinger, just giving you a heads up I was thinking about using Bud Candy and after doing a lot of reading I read it is very good for giving your plants a unique smell and taste, but many people said that it overpowered/ruined the natural flavor of the bud.... Basically from what I read it seems Bud Candy makes every strain taste and smell the same, which even though is supposedly a good smell/taste it isn't the natural flavors of that strain. So I guess it works as advertised but just something to keep in mind... I chose not to use it as I like to try the flavors of different strains. I did choose to use Big Bud though as it supposedly boosts yield without affecting flavor/potency.
