so i was reading ed's first manual, wire bound 1979. what i found odd was that he says the induction of red light, as well as light cycle triggers flowering in cannabis. also he says certain varietys, mostly indicas can flower with up to 16 hours of light. he later admits that 12 hours was reccomended to induce flowering in about any. so we started with an afgani x black domina cross. giving it 16 hours of quad band led light, it flowered without any problems in 52 days. it seemed more dense and flavorfull than our control plant under a digilux 600w. the nutes were the same, media was pro mix hp for soil consistancy. so we decided to try to push it further. we built 3 90w pure blue led lights, switched the quad band leds back to 12 hours on. when the normal 12 hour cycle finished we turned on the blue leds for a additional 8 hours. the hemaphroditic respose was anticipated, but unseen. the plants flowering time shortened from 52 to 50 days, yeild was up by 23 grams on the blue run! we have since tryed it on a few strains with varying results. the closer we strayed from indica, the higher the hermie response. exmple- it worked with hash plant, but not with jack herer. it worked with menicino madness but not with cheese. i love the led revolution and wanted to share this info.
