I'm a n00b, but it's not the MG. I've used it from day 1 of my very first grow, and I popped 6 out of 9 Blue Rhino beans in it. (2 "were" runts) but the other 4 are growing at a pretty good clip and 1 is even showing pistels at 31 days. So "from this n00bs point of veiw" MG, so far so good..
Some people grow good weed with mg and more power too em. Like i typed though, it was too unforgiving for me, its a great soil for people who know how to manage it. Personally i wish i could grow quality buds with miracle gro. The soil is 8 bucks cheaper a bag then what im using, i would spend a hell of a lot less on nutrients, and my favorite, i wouldnt have to spend as much time tending to them because the miracle gro does a good chunk of the work for you. Almost like a chiapett just add water. (And light of course lol)

Yea I get lots of people telling me that, I probably could get "better" smoke with real genetics but I figure if half the great strains originated from landrace sativa maybe one day ill find my special lady. Besides I'm in tx and the "quality" bud really doesn't look any different than mine. So I'm happy with it.but I've personally never seen weed that was properly grown not be covered in trichs and super potent wether it was bagseed or a strain that won whatever cup this year...but I've been growing mexican sativas since I was in highschool and it seems to me that us growers find something that works real good and never change
Right on bro i started with bagseeds and that shit was potent and it was some good ol texas regee seeds. But i loved it. I had one hermi and polinate a diesel berry plant i had flowering. so now i have like 30 seeds of this bagseed x diesel berry strain. Its going to be cool to find out how they turn out.

Yea dude. Nobody was more surprised then me at the outcome. That grow was the result of two years of research and planning. Good genetics and sticking to the basic principles of growing

Man, Earlier today I just planted my 3 newly germinated seeds in 6-month MG because I didn't realize that there was no other soil around the house and I didn't want to screw the seeds up by getting dry or drowning. I have 2 northern lights and 1 white widow, all feminized. I was planning on transplanting them into the ground and ditching the MG. First time grower, btw.

I was wondering, since I chose easier strains and I plan to move them out of the MG very soon to the sunny outdoors, if my plants will grow? I'm only growing for myself and I don't smoke all that much, so I can easily deal with low yields (if that would be the result of starting in MG for about 2 weeks). I just need to know if my plants will live.

Primarily I am against growing anything intended for consumtion with synthetic ferts. One very interesting fact that I have learned is that non organic sources of nitrogen grows weak, watery cells that are super attractive to pests such as aphids. I am an outdoor grower and fully organic. I must say that there really is no excuse that one cannot be organic. The same outlets that will sell MG will also sell cheap soil without chemicals and will also sell a cheap bag of compost and a small bag of perlite. Combine these three and you have a good base soil suitable for organic gardening. Catch free rainwater, combine a few gallons of this water, a handful of compost and a couple tbsp of molasses and you have your basic tea. Now you are off and running full organic! https://www.rollitup.org/organics/636057-recycled-organic-living-soil-rols.html
Follow this link and you will never have to buy soil again. "I can't afford expensive organic soil" or "I cannot obtain organic soil in my area" are not excuses! Everything else needed to get you through an organic grow comes from your grocery store. If one wants to grow with MG products I am fine with that..to each his own, but your beloved plant will never reach its full potential! I am not an enabler. Teaching newbies that MG is fine is wrong, in my opinion, because first impressions are everything and they often lay out the path one will follow for the rest of their growing career.
I will say that I do not see MG as an inferior product. They have been around this long for a reason. I bet they didn't have the marijuana plant in mind when they formulated their soil though..you know who did have our plant in mind? Mother Nature:)
