My first ever grow, using cfls. Definatly not prepared what so ever for a grow i popped a bagseed in some MG African Violet Soil. Didnt use any veg or flowering nutes, straight water to the end. She had quite the problems but made it through, although hermied due to light leaks. Great learning experience though

I am only into my 4th grow and have not used MG yet. In reading I have come across many people who claim the taste of weed grown in MG soil was off or not there. Anyone have a comment about taste?
My MJ tastes just fine...
Good Burn, smooth... Don't blame a shitty cure on MG...
So many newbies, fukk up their first grow...
So many use MG... Their friends tell them:
"Dude, it's like MG Sux, man everyone knows that, fukk MG"
Then their second grow turns out better, so it must be the MG...
Genetics, cure, dry, nutes, soil...in that order for what effects taste to me.
If you have bad genetics, cure it crappy, and also just happen to use a MG product, "STOP It"...
It's not MG...that's f/n the smell/taste up... so many other reasons, get it "ALL" right...
I'm starting to sound like a MG salesman... Fukk that...
Use what works for you, pure and simple...

has anyone used mg garden soil, this year im planting all of my young-ins in the ground not doing buckets like previous years

where im doing it this years is 3 miles down in a hollow so 5 gallon buckets are hard to get down there with all the soil im also running natural water off a spring is why i'm putting them in the ground so less traffic in and out previous years i took water to them

then dig big holes and make a super soil, all depends on whatyou want. check out gorilla grows on the forums to get some better ideas. this thread really wasnt meant to cover that.

feel free to use MG soil but it is a "potting soil" which means it does its best in containers. im not sure on its effectivness being used in the ground.

I used it indoors, cuz it was the only thing I could find at the time, but I mixed MG perlite w/it...

So i had a blue widow and a bagseed in miracle gro but i wasn't having much success with it. Its too unforgiving for me. If you over water there's potential for burn, yet you can't flush the nutrients out. I switched over to regular soil that specified it was good for veges and herbs. I feel i have more control over my grow when using regular soil. Heres a before and after of my plants, one in miracle gro one after transplant.

Edit: When i was given the advice of "take your plants out of mg" like the host of this thread said he didn't want to see anymore, I'm not going to lie i was semi pissed because i was having a really hard time finding good advice on using mg. So I gave in and transplanted. Wish i woulda done it when i was first told to transplant apposed to the 5th+ time. Researching and having the ability to make myself more informed on what I'm doing before i do it was a great asset that i didn't have before due to the lack of good info on growing cannabis with mg.

I would personally never use Miracle-Gro....Time-released chemical nutrients ~ eh, no thank you. Also, the name reminds me of the movie "Idiocracy".

New company slogan....

Miracle Gro: It's got what plants need

also if you want to say anything negative about MG soil then feel free to do so in a mature manner that will be educational to others....childish rants, name calling and being a complete tool are not welcome here and i will flag your post to be deleted....

keep it fun, educational and mature as were all adults here (or supposed to be at least) and where here to benifit the marijuanna comunity.

I will say this, i dont like Miracle grow personally.....that dosent mean its not a viable medium to grow in. its a personal opinion i have....

what i am tired of is hearing people tell newcomers that MG soil is complete junk and they should start over with different soil...instead of giving advice to help them through there grow and letting them decide later on wether the MG soil is for them or not.

i have actually told people who are having alot of issues to wash the soil off and transplant into new soil. I agree it is hard to work with.....but not impossible. it just takes a little knowledge on the use of the product. and thats more or less what this thread is about, spreading advice and results on the use of Miracle grow products, wether they are good or bad.

db1.jpgdb.jpgI think I posted this already but it may have been buryied in the post.
This is gardener & bloom, check the composted material, it is in a2cu ft bag, much better product than that more money than brains fox farms. cost $8.00 per bag. Any nursery across america can order a pallet of this in. and will if they are made of aware of it. I've had several do it for me in the rocky mountain states. goooood product!!
So I guess this kinda kills the excuse that, for some, m.g. products are all thats available. On another note. All grow room products sold through IGrowhydro, on line are repacked in non-descript packaging no name on the return address.
The package is shipped ups but stealth. what they sell isn't illeagal, but they take these precautions, on every shipment, even if you don't need them to. WalMart will order this in for you as well, They got me 10 bags cost alittle more of coarse, $100.00,in Utah. So put your m.g. away and get with the program. Sometimes growers just get lazy and don't do the homework. Misiformation about what is available, and what we can get cheap, is not the problem. What is the problem is, that new and lazy growers don't plan ahead. You know you need x amount of soil. You know what is available at the local retailers. Why not plan ahead and have them get something that is more appropriete for the application ordered before you need it? Besides why spend the high price for m.g. It's not cheap. The stuff in the bags above is cheap, and 5 times the product of fox farms.
P.s. my local nursery guy, just got and delivered me a 40 bag pallet at the first of the week. price $185.00 delivered to my driveway. comes to about $4.50 abag or something.

Sorry, but no MG makes 'Garden Soil" to put on or in the ground. I use it all the time for my vegetable garden, it works great...and that's all they had when I got some so I mixed MG perlite and went with it for my babies too..

MG soil or Ocean Forrest matters little IMO. Basic growing skills is the weak link. There was a day when kids got out of school and went to work in the fields. Many before school also. Have a free minute then go help mom in the garden. Growing things was a part of growing up. But now a days its video games, gummy worms and the internet. Most new growers are as blind as Ray Charles on Sesame Street these days. Stumbling around looking for 'the quick way' of doing things. Its way easier than most think. Water. Dirt. Light.
