Shit... my buddy in one of those private facilities gets cable and has an xbox. (xbox not provided by the prison)

EDIT: I think he said he get's paid 9 cents an hour? Sounds low, but I think that's what he said. Actually, I think he makes more than that, but some goes to pay stuff back. I also never knew when you send a prisoner money they take some of it for payment or some shit.
Sounds like he's living the life LOL. No there is this juvie down here that has cable, consoles, bomb ass food, even a game room!! I heard some parents just drop there kids off there just for doin nothing. They gotta pay more though haha

You owe your soul to the company store.
My mortgage company, all my utility companies, the local grocer and all the retail outlets I visit care a great deal. In fact they won't provide me any services without payment of those notes.

Interesting.....So you work in exchange for these things?
It seems like the slaves of old on the plantation got these things provided to them in exchange for their labor
And the prisoners of today receive these things without laboring
Hey at least you"re free....

Since when?
Is that 50 state wide? Or just your state you are aware of?
Prisons or county you are talking about?
idk about state wide or nation wide or state pen's vs say country jails.. but i once got locked up for a possession charge and when i was arrested i had some money in my pocket.
when i got released i was expecting to get this money back as it was going to pay for my bus ride home.. it wasn't much money at all, under $5o or so i'd say..
when i got released they give me a paper saying that my money went towards my incarceration fee and i got nada back from my $50 and i was only in for like two days or so..

btw, this was a county jail..

yah, same deal here.. guy is saying that if he puts money on the books, some of it goes toward the jails for them locking you up..

i also watch that show lockup raw on msnbc way more than any person should, and i just saw an episode where this guy got into trouble because he put money on another guys books and the dude ended up ripping him off and not giving the guy what he was deserved..

the po took the dude in the room and was talking to him, and he said you know the only reason why you ever put money on a different guys books was because you didn't want to pay your lock up fee, and the guy said yah, wtf would i want to pay to be locked up, you m effers were the ones who locked me up, i didn't ask to come here, blah blah blah, but yah, you definitely have to pay to be locked up.. i'm not sure on the amounts or anything though tbh, but i do know being locked up is not free..

When ever I would have tickets or fines I would sit them out in jail. Each day counted as like $120 so if you had a possession ticket or speeding ticket you could check yourself in, in the afternoon. Basically go through all the booking bs and be out that night fine's free....

Not sure how it works in all states but that's how it was in NE
