thats not a bad sign.

Can a plant be sick but still grow very fast ? The ladies are growing so fast like I’ve not seen before but the leafes are looking so ugly curled and twisted but green without any spots..why ?

pH is on Point 5.8-6.0 and nutes are not strong 300ppm. Could it be the humidity ? It’s very low right now

Start a mom and run clones. Way easier and you will produce way more running perpetual.

If you clone straight in water you don't need any medium, just neoprene pucks.

^^^ Bleach hasn't fixed root for for me, only prevented it.

I have a friend who just had a major issue with root rot. He couldn't get the rot under control until he stopped the chlorine and went with benes. I couldn't understand why it wouldn't resolve his issue until i found this this write up on using oxidizing agents in hydroponics. Turns out chlorine is a preventative, not a fix. Especially if the rot has set in hard. Not saying it can't fix it as theres variables, but hard to argue with this guys findings...


Look at the first chart on that site... Chlorine dissipates within 2 minutes of interacting with nitrogen. Maybe if a guy ran straight water and chlorine and flooded the tubes it might work...

@kenmastazz - I recently tried making my DIY hypochlorite mix stronger in order to get to 5 ppm. It literally fucked my plants and stalled them right out. Mega twisting in the leaves. Mutation in the new growth. Went back to the original recipe and the plants rebounded in a few days. Too high of a chlorine ppm in your mix and you'll see weird stuff happen. Gotta get that humidity regardless dude.

50 - 100 ppm of chlorine would absolutely kill any plant.

i've been on southern ag for a few years now but from what i remember of my pool shock days, the "smell" of the chlorine would be gone in 2 or 3 days. obviously my nose can't register ppm of Cl, but i find 2 minutes to be hard to believe.

It was whatever 2 drops of Clorox ( maybe concentrated?) was per five gal. I had seen an experiment with high ppm of chlorine (not chloramine) and I really wanna say it was 100ppm before the plants got sick. I really wanna say that 2 drops was 50, and it gave me room for an accidental couple extra drops.
******I'll ask my buddy if he has the ppm in his excel sheets, it was 5yr ago.

But I absolutely remember 2 drops of Clorox (not the splash free, but not 100% sure it was concentrated) per bucket, every other day. I'll ask my buddy.
We joked it was our most valuable nute. We had no amps, and it smelled musty OUTDOORS. Sanitation was out biggest struggle in the summer.
Bleach everything!

I did it for two years with him.

Yeah I honestly have my doubts too tbh. I know UC Roots and Success nutrients along with any others that use chlorine/hypochlorite recommend to re-add every 3 days. Based on that and the research those dose values seem like its more of a system shock than anything else. If that wasn't the case you'd think they would recommend to keep the system at 5 ppm constantly. Again, that buddy was adding 5 ppm to a system with bad rot and within a few hours the ppm would go from 5 to 0 so it does seem to match up with the research done.

From the posts I've seen 2 drops seems to be 5 ppm. I believe that article says anything over 10 ppm is fatal to organic mass.

only way i would do Cl was the way i did: HTH shock and measure it out with an accurate scale.

it worked great for me but a few mL of bennies 1x a week is pretty easy too! lol

Yeah dude I'm actually going to give the bene's a try here as well after seeing how fast his system took off versus using the chlorine. You've got a helluva lot more experience in hydro than I do. If you're having good success with them than its one more reason to give 'em a shot.

It’s the same as hydroguard when I’m not mistaken...

I did also both sterile and failed and this time with bennies I have never seen such a growth. The bitches looking ugly twisted dunno why but I check them in the morning and at nights and there’s everytime a new set of leafs and roots exploded in 10 days...

read only good things about it but unfortunately its impossible to get here....

If i get root rot and usually do in water, i just drop rockwool plug even 4 inch inti 4 or 5 gal with promix xp m, after cleaning off roots, and they gey better quick. Pro mix is forgiving. I think mycorhyzae is what cures rhem. Hope this helps as a go to when all else fails. Im notcsure why people think that promix is soil, its a peat, pearlite mix, so technicaly its soiless.imo.

Today is day 14 and the weather is getting warm so I will flip to 12/12 on sunday.
The leaves look twisted and I’m not sure if the brown stuff on the roots is rot or the tea because I hand watered the tea through the medium but the plants grow very fast and the roots smell earthy and are not slimey not even on the brown patches.

If its root rot you will smell it! If earthy they are fine, usually smell crisp, dont know how to explain it, fresh! I guess.

Hey if l were you ld skip a space if not two, crowding is going to be an issue! They look sad. Promix is a good backup plan, its still hydro but peatmoss medeum.
