REALLY??? i think your journal is one of the more interesting ones. The buds are always looking like pretty good quality and the pics are great. Probably dont make much of a difference but ill keep following this thread until you stop posting
Couldn't agree more, your last journal on reducrr hour light cycles really opened my eyes and helped clear away some of the bullshit that I had encountered as a noob.
As well as providing a good laugh at outdated informstinf haha.
Keep on growing dude!

Lol Don't sell yourself short. Those are nothing less than dank:clap:
What i've learned......

Never judge a plant by it's appearance.I've smoked nugs from completely healthy gardens that couldn't hold a candle to nugs of lesser health.

LOOKS really mean shit to me.
Thanks guys
I’m not down on myself my level of self esteem is good most of the time.
I been at this grow thing awhile now

Thanks, what have you found as far as yield ? are you getting less than on let's say 12 hours ? I use 10 hrs., have never considered using 8 ?? I'd love to save the extra electricity!
To be 100% open and honest the answer to those questions are near impossible to give.
Without a controlled scientific side by side comparison it’s kinda like asking which method grows most sog scrog etc.
Now after saying all that, the bro scientist in me is convinced that my loss isn’t much if at all. I still average an oz per gal on most non cookie strains and if I’m losing anything then the energy savings would balance it out.
I realize that the cost per gram is crashing while energy rates soar so eventually it’s a wash.
That is a subject that has caused many a debate and everyone and their brother are experts so I’m reluctant to go back down this road but the truth is that I’ve been growing indoors since 94 off and on with every sort of lighting, method and schedule I’m no dummy if I was losing significant yield on cycle alone I wouldn’t be still doing it. I have a very limited amount of square footage and have learned to become as efficient as possible.
Everyone should tinker and find what works best them because as with most things in the grow lore ymmv and trial and error is the ultimate learning tool.:blsmoke:

Thanks for the info, actually that's what I found on 10 hours too, I don't think the yield is much different, I also average 1 zip per gallon, but recently I over-vegged and got 8+, so I don't really think it's holding the plants back

Yes I'm all about doing this on the cheap as well, going to read through this thread and catch up, interested in how much more I can cut, thanks again for the info, good luck!

Thanks guys
I’ll keep trying to keep things honest and entertaining if possible.
Still chugging along with only 8hrs and don’t plan to change that anytime soon either.

My 10/10 experiment will go same strain competitive. I saw enough with the male I did last year and the one that is finishing now. It seems to have more smaller calyxes than the others of the same strain. Will probably do a comparison to 12/12 (or something close to that) simultaneously with same strains.

Your male under 10/10 had smaller calyxes?
I’m not sure what your saying here but I do hope you do a side by side.
I don’t run the same strain twice in a row often and never take clones anymore haven’t been too worried bout the differences tbh or I’d have done the same.

Smaller tighter clusters of flowers/preflowers in general for both male and female. I didn't let the male finish, was just a test run of the program, I have a female finishing now under 10/10. On the female calyx look less swollen.

Those all look good to me @SSGrower
Can’t wait to hear how all the comparisons finish up.
Hopefully you find the cycle that works best for your needs.

Now steering back away from the schedule topic I had to chop two male lucky charms today. One of them was one of the twin pairs. The other plant isn’t really showing yet so fingers crossed it’s a girl.

So what I meant on that post that I got eight Zips total probably a little over but not per gallon! LOL that would be a hell of an accomplishment

About your light schedule, do you have 8 hours of light and then 8 hours of dark and then 8 hours of light etc., or do you use 8 on and 16 off..?
