Shipping laws

I'm trying to find out what the laws are for shipping hand made jewelry and smoking utensils made from the stems of my plants. They'd be shipped from California to Colorado and any shipping company is fine. I've fried my brain looking endlessly over the internet, with no results....oh except one. Hemp products are shipped internationally. That's nice to know, but that's not what I'm asking. Not even sure if my product would be considered hemp cuz the middle (hemp shive) is hollowed out to make the jewelry. Uggghh...anyone have any idea???

Stems contain THC and are not legal.. Unused paraphenalia laws vary widely across different jurisdictions..
The amount of THC STALKS (not stems) contain depends on the strain and when its harvested, but its minimal. Stalks may not contain significant amounts of THC if they are made from non-drug cannabis strains or young plants. And believe it or not, Federal law actually reflects this:

Don't take my word for it. Here is the actual Federal law. . .

TITLE 21 - CHAPTER 13 - SUBCHAPTER I - Part A - Sec. 802.

Sec. 802. - Definitions

As used in this subchapter:

(16)
The term ''marijuana'' means all parts of the plant Cannabis sativa L., whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from any part of such plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant, its seeds or resin. Such term does not include the mature stalks of such plant, fiber produced from such stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of such plant, any other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such mature stalks (except the resin extracted there from), fiber, oil, or cake, or the sterilized seed of such plant which is incapable of germination.

So by Federal law, cannabis STALKS are NOT considered marijuana and ARE legal. This is effectively the carveout permitting trafficking of hemp products. Note that Federal law SPECIFICALLY excludes "any product" made out of mature stalks. . .presumably including err. . ."tobacco" pipes.

Under Federal law, SYNTHETIC THC is illegal, and THC extracted from plants is illegal. On the other hand, I believe there is precedent that trace amounts of THC present in STALKS is legal. . .so long as you don't attempt to extract it. (Same is true of opium in poppies, for example).

As to paraphernalia, the definition will vary from place to place, but I think simple "tobacco" pipes are legal everywhere. They're definitely legal in both CO and CA.
