Sexing plants for new growers

should i sex my plants by putting them on a 12/12 schedule to determine sex so i can ditch the males..

i will upload pics later, but here is some old pics from a little while ago, they have gotten some what bigger
and are growing many more leaves it seems by the days.

i just dont wanna fuck up something ive barely even made work now ( made LOTS of mistakes as some people on the fourms will tell you)IMG_20120721_145904.jpgsoil2.jpg

Like i said theyve gotten alot taller, ive added pertile, gotten them some blue cfl's and im going to put in nitrogen based fert in there at the next watering.

bump...i see how it is you all want new pics.,also i have proper lighting if youre wondering, the photo resolution just didnt come out too well

You can go that route. But keep in mine when you revert back to the vegetative state it usually takes 1-2 weeks to recover from the change.

thanks for the reply
guess i wasnt as interesting to others :-o

do i have to drop the temperatures at night? and i think ill let em get a little bigger
i mean is there anything i can do with males.. and how long is the vegetative stage usually, these plants are about 32 days old..they had a rough beginning though.

wouldn't be raising the temps at night as mother nature is always going to be cooler at night. veg can be anywhere between 3-6 weeks, i flicked the switch last night just short of the 4 week mark but i dont know your previous problems of how much shock they've been through. males can be grown for seeds but i dont like the idea of filling my grow room with pollen. more trouble than its worth i reckon.

i would take a clone off each plant wait for it to root then put them on 12/12 and sex them that way.its saves the hassle of putting the main 2 to 12/12 then waiting for them to revert back to vegging.u can have the clones rooted and sexed in just about the same length of time.just my opinion tho.good luck with whatever u do and i hope u get females.peace

Next time, why don't you try 12/12 from seed? For a small, personal grow, I think that is the ticket. Since your grow area is constantly on a 12/12 cycle, you can have plants of different ages all growing together, which gives you perpetual harvests. You can have 2 plants finishing up budding while seedlings are sprouting. On a 12/12 from seed cycle, your plants will show sex around Day 21 ( Day 1 being the day the seedling pokes its head above the soil.

12/12 from seed is an easy way to grow, you should try it in your situation.

appreciate it closet..and yeah green next grow is gonna go ALOT better now that i kinda know what the fuck im doing and know to put the taproot at the bottom instead of facing up (killed one of my seedlings like that, he grew upside down )
