setting up cfl lights??

Hey guys, ive been browsing over the cfl grows in this column and i gotta say i was pleasently surprised so ive decided to give it a go and see wat happens.

First of i need to no how to hook the lights up, i was thinking just hooking a lamp cord to a light fixture and connecting it all to a homemade reflective light shield, will this work and is it safe or is there a better way??

Also, at what distance do you keep the lights from the tops of the plants? I no this question has been asked and answered a hundred + times but the answers all seem to be different.

just go to walmart, homedepot, or lowes buy a powerstrip buy a couple of plug in adtapers that plug into power strip and on other end you can screw a lightbulb in buy some wye adtapters so you can have 2 lights off 1 fixture you will have to tape them to the strip so they wont fall keep them real close to your plants for vegging you need 6500K bulbs can use down to 5000K and mix with a few 2700k bulbs that way you get both spectrum red & blues during flower you need to use more 2700k bulbs the 6500k any more ?'s hit me up check out my forum im sure you will get alot of advice people on here are always willing to help
