Setting up C.A.P Ebb and Grow

It's identical operationally. What makes it superior to the R&M to justify the $150 increase in price? Larger bucket? Remember this came out much later than the R&M so some improvements would be reflected in the Titan. I don't see why you are so sand-in-jina about the R&M.:peace:

ok what ever . If U post statements, you must have done so for a reason. All I'm asking is why is the Titan so much better?

The concept is the same. But the brain is better quality. Also the buckets are larger then the 12 site but smaller then the monster. Also comes with 360 net pots. Letting better flood and drain and roots. The baskets snap in so no lifting/floating. And the return process is easy with sunlight while R&M is a pain. I was looking at the cap at first. Then the Titan. I had to get them side by side and find the pros and cons with both. Titan won. And the only down side at the time was it's blue. Thought light would damage roots. But that isn't the case. Also let's the buckets temps be lower then the black. Not much but with roots a few degrees is alot. So do what I did call around to different hydro stores and see if any have them both set up and look and you make the call. And the Titan is only $25 more. And another plus for me is they have fabric liners that are made for it. Letting me run loose coco.

Loose coco in a ebb & flow system? Sounds nerve wrecking even with a fabric liner. And my friends problems are with his brain bucket. He says he has had to deal with the manufacturer twice and they have turned him away both times. Thankfully our local hydro shop owner is a nice guy. Would you be able to post a pic of this loose coco setup? Only asking because thats what I just switched from, and having the best of both world sounds interesting. It just sounds so strange.

This isn't all coco it's black labels 80/20 mix. But it's loose and the liners keep it all in the pots. Been running it for a few weeks and so far nothing flowing back to the res. Think I'm going to stay with this mix.

@warlock Are you able to move the plants between the buckets easily? I like with the E&F you are able to do this to rotate the plants.

Yes. It's not as easy as the cap. Where you can just turn them. You have to pick up the basket and turn. But I don't do that anymore. They get plenty of light.

Oh are you talking about the basket snapping in? They do but it's with only enough pressur to stop any floating. If you pick it up there isnt much force needed. Most of time time you don't even notice.

I never was too impressed with the E&F buckets. I might buy one of the Titan bucket kits and give it a try. Those filler pouches, are they Air pots like?

Just like them. But not as thick so when the system drains they don't keep the soil as wet like a air pot would. If you've used air pots before you know what I mean. Haven't been using them long enough to see if the roots stay within the bag or not but in a few weeks I should know.
