seems like a huge leap for an unexperienced grower, also we'll need more info such as the size of the room, how much yield your expecting, how many lights are you willing do, how big the plants are gonna be.

theres alot of variables when it comes to growing and you should cover everything and start small, no matter how easy it looks cause you might have seen someone grow who you thought was an idiot or whatever the case cause well its not that easy and id assume 90%+ people fuck up there first grow and a grow of this size could be way to much to tackle.

Loads of questions!
First pencil in what grow method, maybe a SOG grow...and let us know room sizes.
Soil grow and 40+ plants is all the info you've given...can I have some more please?

Damn... thats a big room... I don't know anyone who goes that big. I've heard that most people, in an ideal world, would have 4 large ladies in 5 gallon pots under a single 1000watt... But I can't say for sure.
Soil? I prefer coco. I like the Sunshine brand "Advanced CoCo" Its myco-activated, contains a good amount of perlite and has all the salts already rinsed out. If your gonna do soil, go with Roots soil.
Nutes? you need a full line-up, like Advanced Nutrients... If you wanna save some money, TechnaFlora's BC line is a good middle of the road nutrient line-up. Just make sure the nutes have all the macro and micro nutrients that you need. It's not all about the N-P-K, you need micro nutes too. Most nutrient companies sell a "starter" pack, I know TechnaFlora does. I'd grab one of those and try and make it all work...
Good Luck

alright 15 1000wers will get you the 10lbs you want, also get a good yielding strain and have atleast 1500$/month for the electricity, also watch the fuck out about cops as a surge in power like that is for sure gonna get looked at.

Its all good my house runs on solar panels and batteries so i wont have to worry about that but what typr of soil should i use and what size buckets

I got a 18x26ft room with a lil closet space aswell and im hoping to try to get around 4-6oz per plant
you're planning on growing 10-15 pounds indoor, and yet come here with these questions.

my best suggestion is to stock up on cal mag.

3-5 gallons will be fine, get soil that retains water cause unless you use a rez and drip line then watering will take fucking hours.

I really appricate all the help and info i get from all of thanks i wouldnt: have any ideal where to start indoor for a crop like this thank u

Not gettin any straight answers huh? Thats cause you dont have a flippin clue what your doing. Ill try and help you. The first thing youll need is to order yourself some AK 47 feminized seeds. How many you order is dependent on what type of grow your planning. SOG is what i would recomend for you because you dont need to screw around with plants for as long as SCROG. Around two months less id figure. 10 k watts in two months adds up or youd need one hell of alot of solar pannels. Your other option is a generator powered by diesel. Still that would be a hell of alot of diesel unless you have access to free diesel. Also SOG gives you less time to make a fatal error in plant nutrients an kill your plants. Im assuming you have no idea what nutrients are from your question so this is probably a real possibility. Youll need an expert electrician to wire this set up thats cool. Electrical that size is pricey, oh ya. 3 or 5 gallon buckets is the least of your expense worries, along with dirt, thatll cost maybe 8-9 bucks a plant. 15 hoods, ballasts, and bulbs will probably be around 5250, electrical..?? 1000 maybe, more if you buy all titan controls, power around 3500..not including a/c and dehumidifiers, nutes maybe 1000, dehumidifier 500, a/c 700, then you need fans 35/fan x 10, ppm meter, ph meter, res for mixing 100 gallons. If smell is a factor which it doesnt sound like it but if it is, youll need carbon filters all over at around 250 a piece, inline fans at around 300 a piece. Ducting, ozone gens, mylar, room deoderizers, green lights for when your working at night, a plan for what to do with run off water from your plants and on and on and on. That many plants and that sized grow you just need a crapload of money to start. Your also gambleing that youll actually have a good harvest. If you dont then your in debt even further and have to do it all over again. Theres so much crap i missed so add a grand on, well make it two and then think about how long its going to take to make it back considering if your lucky youll get an oz off of each plant your first time with all your mistakes. Or you could try to grow trees and if you screw up youll loose more money and time. If growing medicinal marijuana was easy then everyone would just go take out 30,000 dollar loans and make a bunch of money. Its not and most people fail, big time, and it ends up costing you more than you make. Im going to be as honest as i can with you, i took a shot at anwering your question, ive never done anything like what your proposing, but this is what i think you should do. Pull your head out of your ass, go to your nearest hydro store and buy three thousand watt hps setups and two T5 ho eight bulb fixtures and try and grow 8 plants all the same kind. Grow them 3 ft before you flip em to 12/12 and see if you can pull 4/6 oz off each. Your hydro store will tell you what nutes to get and explain how to use them. Grab a carbon filter, inline fan and some ducting, dirt and 8 3 gallon pots and 8 of the biggest pots they have. Youll kill em, probably quick, but at least you wont loose all that investment and youll learn. Only an asshole would start a thread like this and have no idea what theyre talking about, and only an idiot would actually take the time to answer them...your welcome. Oh ya, the +rep buttons that thing that looks like a star on the bottom left of the post...go ahead and hit that for me.

^^ good answer up until you said his local hydro store will explain what he needs for nutes. why not just cut them out and tell him to buy every advanced nutrient product...?

or you can skip the nute BS and jus get Dyna-gro, start off with getting protekt,, and grow. run em start to finish.

I remember when I was about 12 years old, thinking I could grow 40 plants in a 1 foot space with a flourescent fishtank light, and was fully expecting massive buds to be spilling out of it...

Ahh, the joys of reality.

For real though, if you've never EVER have grown before, start small.... That way when failure strikes(and it will) you won't have wasted lots of money time and effort and the learning curve won't be so vast, it can be VERY discouraging to put in all this work and have complete total failure, it will make you want to quit and never try it again.

Start with 5.. then move on up to 10-15....

Why are you set on 40 plants? Not that there is anything wrong with that number...

Get some gardening gloves, the ones with the little flowers on them are cute.

And I was going to tell you to do the research, but it looks like a bunch of suckers showed up and already started helping you even though it's obvious you haven't helped yourself at all.

Like welfare for the noob grower, just open your hands.
