hey i was just wondering. how long can seeds last without being planted?

keep them in a cool dark place,a friend has some from the 80's that he uses every year outside

years, the cooler & drier you keep them the longer they'll last. dry rice is a good cheap drying agent to pack with your seeds in the fridge (silica gel is even better)

so would a seed 5 years + still have a high percentage of germinating?

Yeah, that's the way. Got my seeds wrapped in paper, in a jar with some rice in the bottom, sitting in the fridge's fruit and veg bin.

I've sprouted 8 year old lettuce seeds which are tiny compared to MJ, they were refrigerated and stored with silica gel.

ive had seeds for 5 years that sprouted. kept them in film bottles in the freezer/
