Wow so many different opinions here lol.

I plant my in the dirt, keep the dirt moist and go ahead and put them under lights so they can feel the warmth and brightness and grow toward it.

If this is your first grow you could try a combination of suggestions just to see what you like the best.

humity is too hight ,
should not have used nutes so early
it may still be alive
but say a pray and prepare yourself for the bad news that it is dead

Thanks for replying, I couldnt resist I just had to take a peek & find out what was going on. The seed has not grown at all after 3 days but the white sprout had turned brown at the point is that a sure sign of drying?

If so Ill be starting again I have a few more blueberry seeds.

What should the humidity, temp, PH & PPM be for hatched seeds in rockwool?

i am a soiless grower
so i am not sure about your ph
your temp should be about 74 ,maybe little higer
humity about 60
no nutes at all
like i read you can use nute 1/4 strenth second set of leaves in hydro
but i donot know hydro
if the root has turn brown it is done

Ok new question: I just bought one of those pH/moister meter devices, and from the looks of it, the pH is too acidic (about 3.5) - the water I put in is balanced at 6.5-6.8 after I correct it using pH Down; the starting pH level is around 8.0 right from the tap.

Since the soil naturally turns the water acidic, does this mean I should just put it my regular sink water "as is", so that when the pH level goes down, it won't go down as drastically (6.5 to 3.5~)?

If I fuck up the first-second stage of the grow again, I think I'm going to just buy the damn Jiffy pots next time around.

I've read that people have lost plants because of the jiffy pots , jiffy pucks have a netting that let the roots go through:leaf:

Oh ok - what are your thoughts on the pH issue then?
if your using water right from the tap you need to let it sit out and that will let the clorien evap and also help drop the PH level , I got my 2 5galon bottols full of water and in 1 week they almost droped a hole 1.0 PH level. Adjust your ph level once you have added your plant food because plant food willcause the ph level to change and also test your run off if its high take plane distilled water and drop the PH level some and do a flush , do the amount of medium you have wait a bit so that it will disolve the stuff in the soil then use the same amount of medium in water to help clean it out and test the run off of the 2nd added water

Just retested using the water from my kitchen sink - its 7.2 right out of the faucet. My meter registers the soil as being wet, so next watering I'll try using the water right out of the source.

don't use the water out of your tap if the PH level is that high:leaf:

Ok, so you're recommending I keep doing what I do, except after testing the water when its mixed with the soil, then adjust the pH down/up (most likely up). Correct?

Sorry if I'm sweating the small stuff - I know Desertrat told me not to, but considering A.) this is my first grow and B.) I'm ultra paranoid about the seeds in the cups not sprouting :O.

1 - take your tap water and let it sit out for at least 24 hours , 1 week would be perfect

2 - if your doing just a flush ph the water then do the flush in 2 parts and test the run off both times , if the PH level has droped them that's a good thing

3 - If your gonna feed your plants add the nutes to your water then do a PH test.but to a run off ph level test

I know what you meen , my friend showed me how to do it and gave me some seeds and now I ordered my own seeds so I'm very nervious my self but feel free to check out my grow journal to get help if you need it

here's an idea I'm trying with my next seeds. the first day I soak them in a cup of plain tap water. the next day, I take 1 or 2 damp paper towels, fold them to fit, and lay them around the inside of a clear plastic cup (around the sides only, not the bottom). then carefully push back parts of the paper towel and slip in a few seeds, and continue around the cup spreading them out. usually by day 2 or 3, there are many tap roots started, sometimes more then an inch long. this method has worked very well for me in the past. this next step I haven't tried yet, but it sounds like it should work well. I'll put about an inch deep of perlite in a shallow dish, wet it, then berry the cracked seeds about half way down in the perlite.

until they are about an inch tall above the ground, I keep them in a warm dark place. my server cabinet is perfect for this. it's a constant 90f, dark, and pretty dry and clean. if I could fit a bubble cloner and a light in there, it would be perfect.. best of luck!
