Seed Collectors Need to Check Out this Thread!

Lost seed collection sucks but I'd be more upset my house was so unkempt that there were rats in the house long enough to make it to the grow room!
It's pretty easy to control them!

Of all the pests that can infest a home, perhaps the most disturbing are rodents. The following will help prevent unwanted "visitors" from coming into your home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need
screening
insect/rodent sticky pads/traps
caulk and caulking gun

1
Keep the doors closed as much as possible.

2
Verify that the doors to the outside are properly sealed. To test this, close the door. If you see the outside light, the sealants around the door need to be fixed.

3
Sweep and vacuum frequently. Rodents are in search of food, so make sure all food particles are cleaned up at all times.

4
Store all pet food in closed plastic containers.

5
Seal food properly in the pantry area.

6
Keep the trash area clean and remove the trash often.

7
Check window and door screens for holes.

8
Verify there are no openings under the sinks. The smallest of holes around pipes allow unwanted visitors to enter the home.

9
Place screens on anything that connects the inside house to the outside, such as a laundry vent.

10
Place rodent sticky traps in areas that are prone to allowing them indoors. Set up a few in the garage and basement areas.
