The government is just scared because they know if they legalized it so many people would be making tax free money. And the thought of that tears their little prick assholes apart.

this is why we need phillip morris to make a deal with the breeders of amsterdam to bring marijuana here and tax it so people have a safer alternative to going out to the bar and driving home and killing innocent people

Just Wait For It Im 19, My Generation Is Going To Reshape Everything In This Country. Pretty Much Everyone I Know Smokes Pot Or Has Tried Pot. That Means More And More People Are Opening Up On The Whole Marijuana Is A Terrible Drug, But Its Not...... Just Wait For It Prob Another 10 Years
Hey HockeyRocks001 you sound like my generation. We too thought our generation would make a difference, but it didn't. Back in the 70's everyone smoked pot. We would go to street festivals and people would openly smoke. Driving down the road, random people would signal and ask if you wanted to smoke some reefer. (this was with my mother in the car) When I joined the military, we smoked pot on the way to the AFEES station with the Chief. Everyone in my department smoked. We had quartely parties and smoked on the beach. Then.....Regan came into office and everything changed. Bummer.

Naw, they aint worried about folks making a few tax free dollars. They have the power to tax it.
Think about the BILLIONS of untaxed money spent on the herb ANNUALY. How much tax revenue could be generated? We could end poverty in this country withy it. Every man, woman, and child could have adequate housing, food, health care and education, with alot left over. But that would make too much sense.
SO.............That leads us to the NEXT logical conclusion. There is MORE money to be had by keeping weed illegal. Legalization would have some far reaching effects. Many millions of tax dollars are allocated to fight the evils of pot, and that money would dry up if it were legal. An entire industry (Law enforcement, and corrections) would be severely impacted. Right now, corrections is THE LARGEST industry in the state of Florida, surpassing both tourism and citrus.
Bottom line is that there is more tax money to be had (SPENT, STOLEN, OR WASTED) by keeping pot illegal than there would be if pot were legalized and taxed. Thats our gov't at work.

i dont know about the US, but i sure know that europe is 'close' to broad its vision about cannabis for the reason that most coppers 'waste' time mostly on filling details about a 14 year old found with 10 pounds worth of weed. a big chunk of european teens smoke weed and use recreation drugs easily especially in the belgian-german-dutch areas where advice is given to 'use extasy safely' and free water is supplied during parties for hydration..anyway back to weed. it would cost so much less time, money and effort to make them legal and european MP's have cocaine tendencies (some italian tv show tested the toilets secretly that these mp's peed in, and 70% of those tested were all positive to cocaine ) so the drug abuse issue is an issue to them aswell. i think that mostly the reason of drugs being illegal, is the Mafia or whoever has the business of drugs as his primary income. in italy at the moment there is an ongoing dumping crisis in naples because the mafia owned dumping posts do not want to re-cycle , instead they just want to burn that oven up and get it over with. what is the italian government doing?...lol waving its tails and letting mountains of rubbish pile up for at least 9 months now. so i guess imagine if they had to make it legal. how much less money would the web-ring get. i hear speculations in the US about how the CIa or dea , sometimes get linked to drug trafficking i dunno if its true, but if it is true i think (seeing how cia usually treats stuff EG. CUBA ) that this is the main reason why this shit aint legal. lol the other thing is that i might be high and talking shit...but legal or not...weed WONT die ... :D

It will most likely NEVER end. It is all politically driven. From our elected officials (every damn one of them) having "personal agendas" and refusing to vote the way his or her constituents feel, to the pharmaceutical companies who dump millions of dollars into political campaigns to make sure that illegal drugs remain illegal.

Example: I contacted my Senator about AB-2279 which is in the Senate right now. I asked my Senator (Cox) to please vote in favor of AB-2279 because I was one of his constituents, and that was how I wanted him to vote. Senator Cox told me he personally felt that because Marijuana was illegal by Federal law that he could not vote for AB-2279. Senator Cox further explained that he has strong personal feelings about the Federal laws must always overrule the State laws. I told him he was an asshole politician with a personal agenda and the next time he was on the ballot I would take time out of my life to get everyone I know in my area to vote his happy ass out of office!!!:cuss::cuss::cuss:

Think about it; Pfizer would not benefit in any way, in fact they would most likely loose money if you could not only use an effective herbal remedy...but grow it in your back yard!!!:weed:

Tell me this; WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO METH AND CRACK? For a LONG time all you ever heard about was the Meth problem, and how Crack was destroying the country from the inside out. I haven't heard about a major Cocaine bust, or a serious commercial Meth lab take down in a long time! I guess all other crimes stopped; murder, rape, burglary, robbery, fraud schemes, forgery, etc. The police will take the time to hassle someone with Marijuana, maybe even take away their medicine, mostly because they don't like it. Every time they do, they are not looking for "Real Bad Guys". They are just hassling a sick person, or an old hippie stoner. Who cares. He's not a Bad Guy.

Marijuana should be the absolute LAST priority for law enforcement. Many municipalities and counties have adopted legislation that actually mandates that Marijuana enforcement be the absolute last priority for their police or sheriffs. They only spend the time and effort (and money) trying to keep Marijuana illegal and hassling everyone because they flat out don't like it.

We the voters are winning. Eventually 100% decriminilization of all Marijuana related offenses will happen.:bigjoint:

Check it out; Assembly Bill 2279 in California will make it so that if you have your doctor's recommend, and you apply for a job...they can't discriminate against you because you choose to use Marijuana as medicine. In other words, they can drug test you...but they can't do a damn thing about the positive Marijuana result becasue the law will say they still have to hire you!!! It just had it's second reading and still moving forward.

Yippie!!! It's about time!!! I've been saying for years "they can't do a damn thing...it's just medicine approved by my doctor and legal in the state of California." As Cartman would say..."Screw you guys, I'm going home!!!" It's time to go hang out with Towelie!

:peace:

You work at McDonalds, don't go and pick out "best presidents" just yet.
With enough research, youll find they've all been frauds for the past 100 years AT LEAST

Clinton was the best president for what reason???? Yea he helped our economy.... So what u really can't blame our economy solely on bush. Did clinton deal with 9/11... No his bitchass should of done something the first time they attacked instead let it ride so it can happen again only the second time they succeeded. What about all the natural disasters, and not just the ones on our country but others (ex: tsunami relief). Every presidenthas their ups and Downs and each office term has different issues. So before you start giving out oscars for best president think about what they endured during their term. Clinton = personal problems, bush = world problems to each his own.

the prohibition laws are based on RACE,ECONIMICS,and FEAR THAT PEPOLE CAN decide for themselves what they want to put into their bodies..the majority of legislation is racial,The firsy anti-drug laws were in san fran against the Chinnesse who had opiate dens that were visted by white women,Cocaine save w w from the black man, marijuna because the Mexicans..The econs from the gov seizing proprty is in the billions,,pharm spend billions on new medications..the drug czar has a budget of 20,000,000..if we can change bongsmiliethis we will end PROHIBITION

Meth is the real problem man.

for every 1 pound of meth produced, 5 pounds of toxic waste is left over. Lots of meth labs end up dumping this shit in their back yard or down the sewer to the ocean. Decades from now, people will have issues buying homes with toxic back yards. Never heard of this yet, but im sure it will be a problem eventually.

O and watch "American Drug War" - it shows how most people Amsterdam don't even know wtf Meth is. They are lax on real natural shit there, so no need for synthetics like crystal meth.

yea here we have the highest murder rate in Florida although it is the biggest city in the nation (landwise). I live at the beaches and it's a completely different atmostphere here then on the westwide which is pretty much our slums. The closer u get to the beach the nicer and more pricey. But back to the topic. At 4am the cops came to my house and took me to jail for a 2 yr old parking ticket that I forgot pay it was only $35. Yet we have the highest murder rate in Florida yet they r pulling someone out of their bed who's never been arrested and the only ticket I've ever had was that one parking ticket. That ticket ended up costing me about $1100 in court fees and getting my DL back. It was fucking bullshit can't go after any murderers but come after me. This was back in march and I'm still pretty pissed about it.

You also have to factor in the hippie factor into why it's still illegal. The governments last experiences with widespread pot use just made for a lot of peace loving activist types that the older types don't like and don't want to see more than they have too.

Weed makes people too passive and less supportive of war for any reason than any pro war government would ever like. Not that it really matters, but that's their last big experience.

Plus the people that hated those hippies still hate them and aren't dead yet.
