second grow: closet cfl/hps

this is my second attempt my last attempt ended up with 5 males outta 5 plants but i still gained a lot of experience from that first attempt and feel much more prepared to enter into this grow just sum bag seeds then some grape ape seeds i got off a friend

day 1 July 11th germinated the seeds don't have any pictures

day 2 seeds are splitting but still not ready to go into soil medium

day 3 July13th i put the seeds into the soil and put them under a 26 watt 6500k cfl that says it puts out 1600 lumen plus they sit in the window seal while the sun is out

pics July 15th sprouted outta the ground ( the ones in the eggshell container are grape ape seeds but i decided that that probably wasn't enough soil so i gave the five seeds in there there own home in real small cut in half cups like these two bag seeds are in

july sixteenth second day of growth already they are bigger and seem to be loving the light

for the other 5 in the closet i am going to add one or two more lights, any ideas if 2 or 3 total should be enough for now?

the soil their in is a mix i got from a local garden supply who knew exactly what i was growing as soon as i asked for some bottled nutrients (which they did not carry) but he did have "his own special blend" that he sells to green thumbs like you and i and said it was perfect soil for seedlings then gave me some fert for later and veg... i gained a bunch of info from him.

anyways they will all get their own pots accordingly i though about doing a scrog grow but since im not working with clones i dont know if ill have males or not (probably will) and i don't want to have to cut a male from a screen. but im going to experiment with LST and fimming and topping on half the plants and do the other half normal organic grow and compare the two i only plan on keeping 3 or 4 of the plants and giving the others away to friends after i sex them and see if theres even 4 females to work with

anyways heres day 3 in the soil growth the grape apes are about 2 days behind the bag seeds because i got them after i already started to germ the bag seeds

it is July 18th and the two sprouts are growing everyday, Ive never had seedlings look this good before so i am excited

the grape ape seeds still haven't sprouted yet but give them a couple days and they should be ready to go

pretty good growth for several days, hope it stays that way. so you dont know what strain it is? and yea it would be long before you need to get a couple more flouros, they are cheap anyways so might as well get 3 or more. looks good though

oh yah once they get in the closet its gonna be cfl/regular florescent heaven

no the bag seeds i have no clue what they are but the buds they came from were FUCKING amazing... the whole half i bought i only found 3 seeds and only two of them looked ready to germ... so yah

the first grape ape sprouted today!!!! but her seed shell is still on her, so should i take it off for her or just let here shed it herself???

never seen em sprout with the seed still on em so i know the standard operating procedure with this

give it time to shed itself,mine has always shed itself

okay it is now day 4 since the first guys sprouted. ive added more lights and moved them all to the same place, theyll stay in the closet now untill i harvest them

all but 1 of the grape apes have sprouted.

Im down to 4 of them i dont know what happened to one of the seeds but it died.

two of them have opened up fully one is still closed

the bag seeds are flourishing

they really like these lights

ummm i live in a pretty hydro shopless city so unless i order nutes off the net, ill probably just end up using really diluted shit from lowes or home depot or something

or maybe ill just make this completely organic, havent decided yet

dont know what happened to the last grape ape seed, i checked in the cup and couldnt find any remains of any plant or tap root or anything so im pretty baffled

but that leaves me with two bagseeds and three grape apes, thats probably the most i could fit in the closet anyways.

changed up the set up i think it gives all the plants like PERFECT LIGHT for right now

new set up... okay i know ive been changing the set up alot but im pretty sure this is it until i put the hps over them

up untill know, ive had the hps just hanging in my closet taking up space... i have no idea why i didnt move it before.

but because of this i was hanging the cfls by wire over the hps and all the way down to the closet floor, having to re do it like once every day because it was getting to close to the plants

but know i moved the hps, took out the reflector sheet from the ballast and lined the walls in the closet with emergency blanket, plus hung the fan up and away from everything to help keep the lights cool and blow air out of the closet


the next thing im going to get are the tube fluorecent to put on the walls

also i changed them from half cups to full cups and changed the soil cuz i didnt like what i was using before

anyways heres pics of everything up to date

one of my bagseeds has yellow leaves already but im not too worried about it cuz its minimal and i think its just traumatized a lil

those cups do look considerably larger. do you plan on transplanting them when they grow several more inches?

definitely... ill put them in their big pots as soon as they get some more root mass, i was pretty impressed with the size of their roots when i transplanted them today just hope the one with the yellow leaves doesn't get worse.
