At your altitude, you should be getting full vacuum. Try deadheading your pump to see how low it will pull when not attached to anything.

If you have a leak, or if something is outgassing in your vacuum chamber, you may not be able to achieve full vacuum. How large is your chamber?

Heat will darken oil. How hot did you get it?

i have a 3 gallon chamber, im positive that my water was above 130 and what is deadheading lol
If you close the valve right after your pump, so that it is trying to pump against the closed valve, it should reach maximum vacuum. That is deadheading the pump.

You're not getting as strong of vacuuming action is all, it will take longer for gasses to escape. It might work ok and get just as much butane out over time but if you want to perfect your technique and be able to compare directly to most ppls vacuum runs it'll be best to figure out what the issue is or return the pump/get a new one.

For example, some of use like to pull a vacuum of some oils while they are cool(room temp or lower) then add heat later. You won't get a whole lot of degassing going on with a cool, stiff oil without having full vacuum.

Don't know what time it is where you are but it is time for me to crash after flying high all day...nah who am i kiddin i gotta take one more dab of some absolute and then i'll prolly just pass out right there in my chair, bong-in-hand haha

i whipped it into budder ill post pic wen i can
I was actually hoping for a picture of the adaptor that you think might be a problem.

Watching the bubble action, there is a lot of difference between 26.7" and 29.9", so I personally would not accept less than what the pump is supposed to put out.

could be the pump ya, even with a small leak somewhere you can usually hit close to full vac it just drops as soon as you lock out the system and shut the vac off.

fuk i was afraid i bought a shitty pump. 5cfm 2 stage 25 micron thought would be good but it is not a brand name pump so maybe thats why

and is the muffin supposed to pop?
It will puff up and the bubbles pop, but you may have to roll it up a few times and start over if you are shooting for wax.

If you are shooting for shatter, better to smear it thin under vacuum and not even blow up a muffin, so as to purge faster and preserve more terpenes.
