Alright, I need some help from anyone looking at this thread. I need to narrow down my possible mothers to 2. My moms will be in soil and currently the four I have(one from each plant) are outgrowing their smaller pots. I only have enough soil to keep two of them going until I narrow it down to one after curing. I know I'm keeping the clone from plant #3, but I'm bent between keeping the #7 or #8 clones. Which would you choose. The more opinions the better. Please take a look at the day 44 of bloom update on the previous page and don't refrain from giving your opinion.

Anyone? I'm going to transplant in about an hour or two. Would like some fellow RIU member inputs. #7 was basically the runt of the group, but now that she has matured she has 4 or 5 long thick rock hard colas that are easily twelve inches long with its biggest bud being the biggest bud in the whole group. It also is the only one without orange hairs yet, I know that's not a good thing to judge by but it makes me think it might finish later than 8, which would mean the buzz should lean more Sativa(which is what I'm looking for). However, 8 has been the strongest of the group with the best root growth and 10+ colas that are filling out nicely. It was the first to start orange hairs and seems the most indica influenced of the bunch. Idk though, this is my first pheno hunt so help a brotha out.

I am the last person in this thread that anyone would want advice from, but just stopping by to say I am interested in what you choose and why.

Also wondering why the mother goes in soil, is it just a logistical issue like not enough rdwc buckets or space, or is there another reason the mother goes into soil? A friend suggested this to me awhile ago, told me to find the best mothers I like and put them in soil instead of hydro, not sure why though. I have my first clones rooting and am considering getting a bag or two of soil when I transplant them.

*sorry to derail this with questions, and sounds like you are in the middle of things, so I'm not expecting any explanation soon. Good luck, thoroughly enjoy reading your updates.

Bro its hard to tell by the pictures, but in last pictures i must say they all look really impresive and stem is really fat. No wonder they are producing souch a nice buds when your roots and stem are so nicely developed.
They all look similar it would be much easier to chose from if i would see them live like you do. My advice is thet you should monitor them all closely and chose a plant thet has best and healthiest bud production Along with exceptional smell, taste and crystal production. Also flower time is important factor. You might just still wait and see how will they develop in late flower and then chossing might be easier.

I'm putting my mothers in soil because a single DWC bucket is a pain in the ass to refill and adjust every day or two versus just adding ph'd water with cal/mag and since I buy my water, I use much less than I would in hydro which in turn saves me money. Turns out I only had enough soil to transplant one at the moment but I did keep the other 3 going in little pots and probably will keep them going for as long as possible. I chose the clone from plant number 3, the most stretchy and Sativa looking one. Also has the thickest(not biggest) buds of the group and seems to have a bit more trich production.

got a question bout your grommet size so with a 1 1/2 hole saw you were able to use the 1in grommet without any leaks

Ya, that's the correct size that I used. However, I believe there are several different brands of those grommets that may use a different bit that might be 1 3/8". I don't know the brand of mine but I'd say 1 1/2" bit is what you need.

Well... The day I have been dreading since I decided to start growing by seed and not clone months ago. I believe I have a Hermie. One plant has a few visible seeds on a couple of it's tops and one of the other plants has one or two visible and the other two show no signs of seeds at all. I have checked these plants up and down from the start of bloom, broke buds looking for nanners and nothing. It's pretty obvious which one would be the Hermie I just don't get it, can't find any sign of it. It seems pretty obvious to me... I'm pretty pissed right now.

So sorry to see seed forming : ( Is it real seed inside or just a empty seed shell? Did you found hermie parts somewhere ?
This hapend to my friend growing sannies hericules feminized but he stressed them little in vegetation : ). Later he had like one seed in 10 grams of weed. Not souch a big deal i hope you will manage it out. Let us know how are things going on brother. (As for my Jacks i can just say they are similar to yours as they are starting to become a plant and not seedlings anymore. They have pretty much fat indica leaves and Escobars 5 Blue santas thet are also going on are showing much slimer sativa leaves : ) Best wishes from Croatia!

I've looked the plants over at least a couple times a week since the start of bloom and haven't found any nanners and at this point they look like seeds. I've seen some that have looked like seeds and then turned into a "foxtail". But the one I took a picture of hasn't changed since, hoping it turns out to be just a unpollinated seed starting, I've heard they will form but then grow out into the bud leaving no seed. I doubt it though. Good thing is that there are only a few on the one plant and one visible on the one next to it so it hasn't spread much. Luckily the two keepers are seed free at the moment. Pics coming tmrw.

every fem seed ever sold is the result of forcing plants to hermi, and pollinate.

if you fiercly believe that it was a genetic hermie, which, at f7 is kind of a devastating opinion of the breeders work, then maybe throw em away. if you think you might have messed up ever so slightly and caused the herm in any way due to stress, keep em, pop em, they'll probably be females (if not they'll herm lol).

Ya, i guess it would be the same, all the colloidal silver does it force it to herm. I've never ran fems. only will for a strain I can't get regs. or a clone of that I really want.

Also i would like to say something about genetics, even they show indica fat leaves it doesent have to mean they are indica dominant plants. I have grown 75% sativa plant before with 10 weeks flower time and she had full indica leaves. You could tell its a sativa becouse she loved growing in height and by the way what kind of High she gave when you smoked some. As for im also hopeing this jacks are just displaying indica leaves but growth stile, flower time and High will be at a sativa side at least 75%. After all they are hybrids, they must show some indica traits.

Update Day 59 of Bloom:

Chopped plant number eight. Was a hermie and found 3 male bananas about to break out. Didn't see any seeds while clipping so there must only be a few around where those male flowers were. Total weight is about 4.5 - 5 ounces before being put into jars, expect to lose a gram or two per jar(4). Disappointing because I'm sure I could have gotten 8-10 ounces off this plant fully grown. Definitely around 4 weeks early, no amber trichs at all when chopped. I just couldn't let those male flowers open up and seed the whole crop. I can see two seeds on the plant that was next to is but it isn't a hermie so it's good. The other two somehow show no signs of seeding. Oh and I think I found me a keeper...

Plant #8(chopped):

Plant #3(Keeper, VERY FROSTY, Lower yield, Special in the potency department, leaves turning yellow due to ph swings or salt build up):

Plant #7(Bigger yield and less frosty when compared to #3):

I thought hermaphrodite seeds were no good? If that's not the case I wouldn't mind having a few seeds to grow outdoors.
I thought the same thing, guess I need to do a little more research.

Plant #3 looks amazing to me. I can only hope my girls look this good at the stage you are at.
