Nope, all passive.

I used 1" aluminum heatsink for that build, but my other one is using 2" aluminum U frame (the build in the pics uses the single row strips, the build using 2" u frame has 2 row strips). The heatsink is lower profile and works a bit better, but it costs a bit more.

The frame is just aluminum L frame put together with sheet metal screws. Then the heatsinks are screwed onto the frame.

i had a lot of trouble even finding 2 inch width u channels - had to get them custom cut for me and ordered which cost more and were heavy and pretty poorly cut, stray metal everywhere :(

was it difficult for you to find 2" u channels? i went to like 4 stores before finding out i needed to order them from somewhere special.

Nope. I have a massive metal depot near me that stocks all kinds of aluminum stuff. Although when I went to get my 1" heatsink, they had to order it to their store since they were out of stock.

@Takeshy Taking your light as inspiration, would a 24x F564B light strip in parallel on 2x HLG-320H-48A end up being similar to your light? Or do you to keep a similar uniformity I would need to add 6 more and possibly a MW120H-C500A?

It would be in a 4x4 grow area rather than a 5x5 like yours. Would end up using about the same w/sqft as well as similar equal current levels.

24x F564B with 2x HLG-320H-48A on a 4x4 would be a overkill build, pretty much like mine xD

I used a 3inch channel. It has little ridges on each side, not sure what it is called, it is like a wide U channel, but thin and only 20mm high. THey cost about $16 for a 2.4meter piece that can take 2 4' strips. Each strip plus channel plus screws cost me about $59 installed.

I need to flip too but my clones are taking forever to root... Threw a few in an NTF tube last night as they were not going to root in those godamn rockwool cubes. I hate the stuff but it is part of an experiment. I have a few with roots but not enough to move them to the proper veg room.. Keeping them in the room I flower in a.t.m. as it is warmer and I haven't flipped yet. But now they are holding up the scrog table which is ready to go 12/12. Taking it a day at a time... but hopefully, I can flip by end of the week. Most of the clones I stuck in the tube are still green so they are getting hydrated. I know that tube puts roots on real quick.

When it happened to me the last time and after 10 days no roots wanted to grow, I realized that I had cut them in one day when the moon was in apogee. Since then I use a free lunar calendar app to find the optimal window for my "garden tasks". Did not think what influence the moon can have, but it's true.
Repotting on rooting days, switching the light regime on flowering days, and so on, he even has influence on the storability of crops and farmers have been using the lunar calendar for centuries and still do.
Growing according to the lunar calendar makes a lot of sense ...
At the current temperatures, they should also root in rockwool, unless they are heavily woody, then it always takes a little longer. Also, a high nitrogen content in the leaves can may cause a delay with rooting. But often they was just unknowingly cut on the wrong day!

The app works for the northern and southern hemisphere based on your location and is free for android mobiles. You need to set up this one time and grand permission to use your location but that's it.

Got to say thanks! Built these about a year ago now after reading your post on a number of forums. I'm new to growing and my thumb is as green as a mechanic's hands. Even so I was able to pull .85g a watt with these bad boys. Not quite 1g per watt but I was happy for my second rdwc grow.

Each fixture, which there are four of, are made with 2" heatsink for each strip and framed with L-channel using a 320-b driver for each one. Each fixture is drawing 415 watts for s total of 1660 watts covering an 8x5 footprint.

Anyways, thanks for the help!

Yes, I've thought about it a lot, I want to try drive a cultivation to maximum with my experience and I've come to the conclusion that a rdwc system with extra co2, oxygen concentrator, 1.2 liters of air per gallon can make it better to express 3600w of LEDs for 24 plants
