Just posting this light I just made, expect to see a lot more from me in the coming weeks as I get my strawberry banana seeds in and grow em under this bad boy. Plan to run Nectar for the Gods as well :)

The goal of this light was to strive for insanely good uniformity to help with canopy penetration and prevent any kind of light stress/burning from being too close (a common problem with fewer sources of more powerful lights).

What do ya'll think? I gotta clean up some of the wiring, but it's pretty much all complete.

Tent temps max out at 79f (74f ambient) and the temp of the strips is 45-50C measured directly center of the strips.

Very nice. Good to see ya here Skoomd!

I'm getting ready to do a Sammy build too. Got 6 of the 2 foot F series. gonna do a 150W 24"x24" light for my veg space, so I can retire the Roleadro Panel.
Hell yea. Im gonna try to mediate my microgrowery posts onto here as I love this community!

6x 22" strips will blast a 2x2' space, youll definitely wanna dim em. Sadly I cant afford a par meter but damn I can tell with just my eyes that this setup for 36"x36" is just an insane amount of light. I have a 4x4 running these babies too, 3 weeks into bloom, but sadly the partener im working with wants no pictures upaloded, bud i can tell you i am blown away. Fuck hps, this is how you grow. I cant even tell you how many people still try to sell me on hps. DEHPS is not bad, but you need a TON of ceiling space so its out of the question for me atm.

The space is actually bigger than that - 24 x 39 inches. The fixture will probably be more like 24 x 18, to give it a little space all the way around. I fucked up and ordered 22" heatsinks instead of 24" so I'm not sure how I'm gonna frame it up yet.

Yeah, calculations seems a bit over estimated.

LM561C - A1/S6 - 3000K @65mA
VF: 2.9V (max)
Flux: 34.5 lm/W (min)
QER: 4,86 μmol/J
LER: 321,6lm/W
-> 2.766 µmol/J (2,8 @60mA)

F-Series Gen3 3000K@1120mA
QER=4.86 µmol/J
LER=321.6 lm/W
= 2.54 µmol/J

HLG-320H-24B has 13,2A so each strip gets ~1,3A. The 2ft. F-strips have a 8s9p layout, so ~144mA per diode. I would rather calculate with 2,4μmol/J or 2,2 @ system level.
BUT, it's still a very good light, mate! Nice and clean, with even coverage and I'm pretty sure it will grow some nice bud.

Great build but the numbers are way off . You would need double the amount of strips to get 2.58 umol/j

With 16 strips on a hlg-320 its est 2.5 umol/j
Oh? I was using 170 lumen/w with 5% driver loss. Didnt even factor in the 15-20c cooler temps (samsung strip specs are taken at 65c)

170 lumen per watt divided by 321.6 LER = 52.8%

52.8% of 313 = 165.264 par watts

165 * 4.86 QER = 803 PPF

Oye..... ok maybe i did forget to factor in loss

I forgot I shaved off the driver loss from the overall wattage draw of the build already, so I actually think the original numbers are still in line.. Maybe subtract another 2-3%. The total draw from the wall is 328w, so I shaved off 5% to get the strip power. But at 8% loss (driver rating), im at 301w. So 770 PPF.

Oh dang. You might be able to make it work once you get the heatsinks on a frame to widen it a little bit. But i'm not sure. If there's a way you can mount the top of the sinks to your frame, you should be okay as long as you fit the strips to the sinks really well so there's no overhang.

Yeah, there's a couple of different ways I might go, just haven't sat down and worked it out yet.

That's the first time ive seen a calculator for the actual strips and not just the diodes, thanks for posting. Helps a ton actually.
Yeah, he is relatively new, found him a half year ago.
The second link from post # 16 is also useful, as you can directly take over the numbers of the Sammy calculator and convert them to PAR numbers at different heights....
