The influx L09's, I have 8 3500k's and 4 5000k. Is it ok to mix these together on the same driver or do the need their own separate driver? Was wanting

because all you do in this forum is giving shit advices to noobs. i asked you a specific question you refused to answer properly. because you usually don‘t think before postin, i.e. your "worth it" claim which you couldn’t base on a simple calculation. which you usually do when you compare two products. instead, you just babble something about efficiency without acknowledging the longer amortisation period. just because something is more efficient doesn’t justify investing in something that costs twice as much.
I have you my opinion on why I thought it'd be better to just use cutters. You don't have to keep being so rude about it what more do you want?

I plan to mount a driver on each sheet to run the 10 strips. I need advice on which drivers to buy. Im looking at the HGL-320H-48B or the HGL-480H-48B. If I’m not mistaken these drivers can run at 50% up to 100%. This would give me one big light or 4 smaller lights or any other combination. Or is this wrong? BTW, I already have the strips so I’m going to make due with what I have.

The "B"versions can dim to 0%. Also, several smaller fixtures is much more useful and has its advantages over a single larger one.

The B drivers can be dimmed lower than 50% but to dim you will need a potentiometer or 1-10v DC. The A series dim manually via a set screw from 50-100%. If efficiency is any concern then go with the driver with a max rating close to where you want to run them. If you want the option to drive them much harder then go with a bigger driver and dim them down.

Running parallel you may want to consider sizing the driver so a few boards failing won't cause a cascading failure but you would have to go pretty big for that to be a problem.

It depends what current you want to run the strips at. What are the dimensions of the grow area? The max current is 1.38 amps per strip. An HLG-320H-48B outputs 6.7 DC amps, so divided by 10 strips= 0.67 amps per strip. That's really soft, but might work in a smaller area. An HLG-480H-48B outputs 10 amps, so that would be 1 amp per strip. An HLG-600H-48B outputs 12.5 amps, so that would be 1.25 amps per strip, getting close to max. I'd probably go for the 480 if the strips cover your area pretty well. 480's are getting scarce though (I just bought two). Lots of 320's available right now. I'd only go with 320's if the strips cover the area really tightly.

Yeah I’m not planning on framing it in, mount a few eye bolts and call it good. I’m leaning towards the 320’s for 10 strips but if they could take the 480’s i wouldn’t be opposed to going that way either.

The room is 9x11 but actual grow would be in the 4x8 range.
With 40 strips over that area, the 320's will be fine. I've only got 15 strips over a 9'x4', which is why I'm bumping up to bigger drivers for flowering. Now I'll be able to run strips at 0.83 amps for veg, and 1.1 amps in flowering.

Just connect everything and only turn on one driver? Or disconnect the push in wires and reconnect the other drivers?
 
average power costs in the usa are 15ct/kwh. these strips are about 30% less efficient than modern strips. so lets run 100$ of the cheap strips against 200$ of modern strips. we run them on a 200w driver. we flower only with this panel so it needs 2,4kwh per day. the modern ones are 30% more efficient so we can dim down the driver and we only need 1,68 kwh per day to get the same output. so our new panels cost us 0,36$/0,252$ per day to run.

so let‘s calc with that.

100 + 0,36x = 200 + 0,252x | -100 -0,252x

0,108x = 100 | :0,108

x = 925,92

—> those 10$ cuter strips are "worth it" after 926 days. wow. so much better @Airwalker16 /s

At 3500k, Samsung H inFlux strips (lm301b) are 182 lm/w and eb2 are 175lm/w, about 4%.
