honestly, disrupting the root system is the last thing you want to do, especially if they've worked their way in thoroughly. How much are we talking here? I think it'd be best to leave her there, unless you for some reason have to relocate.

I would not touch it, your plant is striving and loves it right there, how big is your container and how tall is the plant?

lol dont be offended by others giving different advice. You surely know alot about growing given your time here, but we are all shooting in the dark without more information. You are right though, the root system can take ALOT of damage and be thriving the day after the transplant.

i was just making a joke, i don't take things personal...might take a week to pick back up after cutting the roots, but each root that is cut will sprout off into new growth and actuall make a growth spurt. Its like (this sounds crazy but try it) taking a box cutter to your root ball when you transplant. The roots will go nuts. Roots equal bud.

oh, sorry bro haha. Yeah i remember learning in horticulture how one severed root can sprout off into as many as 7 - 15 new shoots. Do you practise this method, and does it noticably affect yield?

everytime i transplant i disturb the rootball like this. I can't say if it does or doesn't (haven't done a controlled comparison) I just know cutting the roots develops more roots. Larger plants equals more bud, we grow large plants to get huge root balls.

the pot is 37 inc round 20 inch high its a old bucket and the plant is 17inc tall with a 2 inch steam and she was just transplanted 3 weeks a go thats why she has not been moved. cutting roots well transplanting makes roots grow crazy there's no need to move her i just like to turn her every so often to let it get even sun she gets full sun all day and you can she the growth every day the gal took the cam on her trip so i dont have a way to take pics of her tell she gets back

that's about a 5 gal container & they are growing through a choke point. If you think you will never have to move it the pot size should be sufficient, but I think you are stealing from yourself not to replant it into a larger container.

I don't know much either but common sense and experience says that when you have any kind of plant in a container outside that develops its root system into the soil to the point the bucket is stuck, to me and in my humble opinion, it means that the plant found a really cool place to settle. Based on that, I think the plant should stay right there for best results. It would not be a big deal to replace the container.

Here's my take on it. I wouldn't want my roots growing in native soil, that's the whole reason you have it in a pot full of superior mix right? I always here about damaging roots is bad but in a video I have before he transplants them in the ground he cuts the whole root mass from top to bottom he said would stunt the plant shortly but the roots would grow rapidly. The plants I recently transplanted I had in dixie cups for like 2 months and the root mass was rock hard so I figured I would try it and I cut the roots up and the plant is doing just fine so I would say you would be fine if you wanted to lift her and transplant unless you were going to put her in the dirt anyways.

lol so what i did was put it in the tote full of soil and cleared a hole 6 feet deep and the shape of the tote filled the hole up to the bottom of the tote then cut the bottom out of the tote and placed it on to the hole and covered it to look like its just sitting on the grass so it gots the tote and about a tote full under the tote it was a lot of soil so im hopeing that will work cuz she wants more root room and i still got 2 or 3 weeks tell flowering starts . i love how fast the roots grow on this plant nice and fast
