root spraying times

yo yo people!

bin lookin at the forum for a few weeks now and you all seem to be pretty up on everything to do with growing so maybe someone can help me?

I been growing for the last two years or so using high grade potting soil but recently I have decided to branch out into aeroponic growing as I understand that it produces bigger, healthier plants. I have done some research and developed a system that meets my budget and space requirements perfectly the only thing I havent been able to suss is the spray times for my roots.

everywhere I have looked i get drastically conflicting information with some people saying a half hour on and a half hour off 24 hours a day, some say leave the water on all the time and some say a half hour on and anything up to three hours off!

anyone who could help please shout me back!

what sort of system you runnin? i just got somethin I put together myself but the system itself works fine if i could just sort out the spray times!!:wall:

couple of questions tho...
are you usin your aero setup just for cloning? like I said before i been doing some research and i'm gonna use my home built setup from start to finish! i reckon its just a matter of correct lighting and nutrient balance when flowering begins and i've cracked it!

Also what do you reccomend using as a medium when the plants are taking root in the vegetative stage? i've looked at rockwool cubes but from what i've seen i think wire tubs and expanding clay pellets look like they'd get the best results but like i said earlier i'm a aeroponic virgin...:dunce:

well, i set my cloner to 15 min on 15 min off and am getting roots at day 12 down from 17-20 days so i think i might increase the off time to 30 min off 15 min on round the clock.

I'm doing 15 on, 15 off. Use a timer that has short cycles. I couldn't find any at Lowe's or wallymart, ordered them online for $20 each. They have auto feature running off the timer or you can go continuous. If you need the info, let me know.

i switched to 15 on 30 min off i'll keep you guys posted on how it goes

I am using just plain tap ph'd to 5.8 at 80 degrees running 24/7 with a homemade areo cloner that puts out roots at about 7 days with 100% success rate at 14 days.

Put up some pics of your set up would like to see what you have going on .

I say BUGS you should stop using your areo cloner with water and fill it with dirt. You might get better results. ROFL

i have decided to do a three way side by side comparison of cloning techniques. one will be the aerocloner, the next will be rapid rooters in a humidome on a heat mat and the third will be albfuct style rw cubes on a heat mat. i'm gonna settle it once and for all for me personally. i'll start a cloning journal and post pics like crazy. it'll be a hoot:weed:

Hey Bugs and Spark,

I just did my cloning on 37 of my mums/dads filled my aerocloner (120 now instead of the 90) and have started with 24/7 watering--heading to get a timer to do the 15/15 or 15/30 after a day or two.
Also did a few dozen in rapid rooters on heat mat with humidome--as i posted earlier i am going for the side by side to see what works.

I am excited though as my clone area is running 82-85degrees at 70-75%RH. I figure a rock should put out roots in that environment.

Aquarium heater and three thermometers in the aerocloner (i don't trust thermometers so i use three for the majority rule in everything)
keep water at 83degrees, 5.8ph, 1ml h2o2/L water.

Rapid Rooters on heat mat set to 83degrees. I am watering plugs with same soln in aerocloner. I will keep you guys posted.

Sounds like warming the water helped a little in your aerocloner huh bugs.
I can almost taste the cured buds coming this december..........:weed:

sounds like your doing great.....ya i think the temps may have been a lil cold....we'll see. my clones are in day 5 and look ok but no roots yet.
