My plant seems to be doing well but roots look as if there turning brown

in hydro??? could be the start of root rot, are they slimy?

You're using a water treatment, right? Water should be a bit chilly.

Depending on how brown, also could be the nute solution. My Advanced Nutrients turned them a light tinge of brown, but 1) they were never ever slimy and 2) when I did a flush with Florakleen to correct a ph problem they went back to snowy white again.
