lol, no chicken thigh...and i only feed dead rodents and try to not feed in his tank, tegus get pretty aggresive around food and holy shit r they fast when food is around.

the other day i was running late to work, like always, so i opened the tank and went to put the dish in his tank. well he scared the crap out of me,cuz he turned around and ran to the door so fast i almost dropped the dish, lol. hes a out 3 1/2 feet long and about 6-7lbs, strong as hell too, so im not trying to get bit. i usually put the food down on the floor and then take him out and let'em walk around a lil till he gets to the food.

when he was a lil smaller, a few times i would go to clean some poop out if his tank with a white latex glove and he was always come to check out the glove and my hand , i think he though it might have been a mouse(he used to get a mouse with live insects worms, crickets, roaches) so you know theres some wiggling and moving around, maybe like my hand. i could be wrong but, thats my story and im sticking to it,hehe.

other then that hes calm and never bit me,even when geting meds through the mouth.

is that a guess? argentine tegus have 2 loreal scales just forward of the eye. the columbian has a single loreal scale. the columbian can get over 3ft long and weigh almost ten pounds, while the argentine will get over 4ft long and weigh over 15 pounds.

His is a columbian too. :D

its an argentine black and white. got him from an expo, they had argen. b/w and reds. his names jada and will be 2yrs in april,4-19 so close to 420,hehe. when i got him he was a lil less then a ft and jsut about all green, they turn black and white as they mature. went from eating little pickies to now getting small rats, and hes putting them down quick, gotta move up to bigger rats, ewww.

the distinguishable stripe makes it look like an argentine, but the loreal scales say otherwise. its very common to see people selling columbians as argentines. the argentines sell for a higher price. usually there isnt a distinguishable stripe on a columbian but some are more than others, the more distinguishable the strip is the easier it is to sell it as an argentine. however the scales forward of the eyes are a sure way of knowing which reptile you really purchase.

I cant stand bugs, they r so damn nasty and creepy. give me any kind of reptile, over any bugs...ewww nasty, thats nasty.

jadas cage is in my room, on weekends when im off, of work, he wakes up earlier then me and sometimes makes so much damn noise ,it wakes me up. and now that he's sheding, hes goin crazy tryin to get all the skin off....ima put him in the tub and soak for a lil, maybe ill snap sum pics.

alot of reps arent for the inexperinced, ofcousrse there is alot that are great ones for first time rep, owners like blue tounge skinks, beardies, ball python, rosy and sand boas, geckos and etc. i dont think iguanas, tegus, monitors, chams.,some of the bigger snakes(buremese, tree boas and pythons.) r for beginers but then again,as long as u know wat to expect and wat to provide ur rep,any rep is somewat easy to keep. just read read and read about them. like a motorcylce, u can get a 500cc bike or a 1400cc bike, as long as ur easy on the throttle and know wat to expect u'll be ok. just dont under estimate it,or them.

all reptile poop stinks, and i mean sticks, its so damn bad..i spot clean, see sum poop, clean it up the poop and the mluch under and around it.

Iguanas r so cool too, but from wat i'v heard from friends and read...they are either really cool and calm or mean as hell, especially around breedig season.

sad part is u can get them at any pet store, for cheap...aww looks how cute, mom i want one, ok jimmy we'll get u one. BAM! next thing you know its 4ft long, mad at u cuz thier tanks is tiny, the lizard cant climb and isnt getting the right lighting.

i've always been a huge reptile fan since i was little.(maybe cuz my parents wouldnt let us get a dog haha) so i can talk reps all day long, i mean shit i've got a dinasour in my room, how bad ass is that. haha
