Rockwool to Hydroton Transplant

I am planning on a perpetual grow come fall. I am testing a drip system that utilizes Hydroton as it's medium, and the rest of my grow is in soil. I want a 4-5 week veg and what I was thinking of doing was to use 6x6 rockwool blocks in a small ebb and flow to veg. Then I will move the blocks into it's final 10x10 pot with the Hydroton. I was also thinking about using net pots with Hydroton, and moving the whole net pot and burying it in the final pot. I'm not sure which would be best for the root system and the continued growth of the plant. Any ideas? Thanks

i use hydration pellets all the time for my medium the only issue i see here is the rockwool staying at a 7 ph, if i am thinking right the rockwool has a ph of 7 and when transplanting and using the rockwool your ph will be kinda hard to control..but if you just use a small cube and the rest hydration pellets but 6inch cubes will be a bit much IMO i would just use pellets .. This thread is closed because no one apparently has an idea how to answer it except, bass1014. I thought that one of wizards of the world could give me a hint, but I guess they also don't have a clue either. I'm going to go with rockwool all the way, devil may care. I will start a grow journal for those who want to see how well it works out, or doesn't. My actual grow will be 13 plants drip under 1500w MH/HPS, 8 plants soil under 1- VHO t5 8 lamp fixture, and 3 plants soil under a Advanced 740w LED. I had to use so many types of fixtures because I have 2 bloom rooms with different footprints, so the MH/HPS is in one area, and the VHO and LED fit into the other room perfectly. This will be my first combination with all these fixtures running from beginning to end. I have used soil for years because I want vertical growth, but I started with ebb and flow, moved to aero, but the amount from my plants for my area didn't amaze me. So I'm going for a GH Waterfarm system this time, because I'm tired of hand watering 25 plants. So anybody that wants to see to toe to toe MH/HPS vs T5 VHO vs LED go at it with similar lumens and spectrums, hydronics and soil both, tune into my Journal and see.This is I can't wait to grow, but not until 8/22/13. That's when my run begins for the year. 1st grow- THC Bomb, LA Confidential, White Russian and last but not least, good old Chronic. I can't fucking wait, but this way I get all my shit in order for the new year grow, and preparation is everything.

if ph is a prob you can pre soak cubes to dial in ph before using them

I have only done DWC, but from my experience with hydroton, I think you would get way faster growth with undercurrent or aero with no hydroton. Just a collar and roots suspended directly in the cold highly oxygenated water/mist.

I tried many ways going from seeds to system i take my cracked seed place it in a small i mean small pot in some coco after i see roots i try and take it our very careful and place it in my hydroton ...... so far havent had one not do me right expect for them damn males lol well anyways good luck
