So, on to the next adventure!
I'll be growing clones of Rocklock. The clones were obtained from a reliable source in OC. The condition of the clones is so, so, but they should straighten out in a view days. This will be a additive 'free' grow, just A/B, call mag (RO), and a PK product.
Usually I also run Roots Accelerator, along with some additional flowering additives.

Currently the clones are under a 600w mh digilux. The grow space is being vented full time as long as they are adjusting to their new home. In another weeks I will stop venting, turn the ac, dehumidifier and co2 on and turn this into a cge environment.

I will scrog this heavy indica dominant strain, but the screen is currently off.

Here are some pics:

i really really really enjoy the rocklock strain, i find the to be extremely relaxing and quiet euphoric, with an overall fruity/piney taste, great sized buds and a huge yielder. im about to put a nice Rocklock into flower tomorrow :) good job on the grow and good luck with clones, i still am having the damnedest time trying to get mine to root. this is my 3rd aeroponic cloner and i just cant seem to ge them to grow solid roots.

Good to hear Streets :) I hear you on th ecloning ha, I had a view problems recently when I had my heat mat temps too high. Could not get anything to root, horrible. Other then that they usually root at over 95%.
Got any pics of your grow?

Little up date:
They are 12 days, and all but one are pulling out of their defs. I hit my grow space with a fogger yesterday.
I also folier feed them 3 days ago.
Other then that all remains the same.

The 3 that are doing good:

The one that doesn't want to play yet:

We'll see, she trails the others a bit, but overall has come a long way.

So things have been interesting in my little grow space. To start off I caused some burns with the pyriteum fogger. To be more precise, it is the propellant in the fogger that will cause damage if it hits the leaves directly. The damage looks like burns wherever the propellant hits the leaves. I'm not worried about it, they just going to loose a view leaves.
My next issue I will have to learn some lessons from. I mentioned in the beginning that I was re-using the hydroton, and I did (for the last time). I have been noticing for the last week that my ph was dropping significantly, from 6.0 to 4.5 and lower in under a day. My EC also went up from 1.3 to 1.8, while maintaining my res water level. That leaves me with only one conclusion, the hydroton was not rinsed adequately. What do you guys think?!
It looks rather interesting as well, the growth that happened during this low ph is completely bleached, not dead, just devoid of any chlorophyll. I'll put some pics up later.
Goes without saying that I did a res change this weekend. Prior though I flushed the hydroton for a good 2 hours. I upped my feed schedule, in an attempt to flush the rest of the previous grow out of the hydroton 60sec/60min. I will have to watch ph/ec closely for the next week or so until this issue has worked itself out. Lesson to be learned from this for me is that I will not re-use hydroton again (never did before), it will go into my garden soil instead.

It's either the hydroton or breeding. Since you are using mainly mineral sources there is probably not a lot of breeding going on. pH shot down as the EC shot up, when the dissolved solids get over a certain amount in a reservoir that is too small to handle, it can cause serious pH issues I have noticed.

It is important to treat all grow mediums properly while reusing them. I always solarize my medium and douse the living fuck out of it with water. I just let it flow! I also like to let it soak or get rinsed with an enzyme solution. I like to have enzymes already in the medium and kicking by the time my plants get into it. You can brew up a compost tea to be your little garden helper. compost tea helps keep your pH in check, it prevents diseases and stronger plants have better resistance to environmental stresses and insects. Not to mention your root growth is explosive and over all plant health is fantastic. It's also a great foliar spray, I use it all the time to fight off mildew on indoor crops, or rot on outdoor crops (it happens up here more than I'd like, 5500ft up, in the clouds)

Isn't 1.3 EC kind of high as well?

Cheers Jozikins, been out of town the last week. Be interesting to see what my plants look like lol, my bud took care of them while I was gone...
The PH thing was my fault for not checking it religiously, I just didn't expect the hydroton to leach like that. I rinsed the shit out of it too... Anyhow, lesson learned! Tell me more about the enzymes, will that work along side drip clean as well? Also, does the compost tea etc. gunk up my res?
Alright got to go check on the girls, will be back in a bit.

Well, I had to take some of the fucked up leaves, but all and all I think they are over the proverbial hump. The medium is starting to stay stable, not much leaching anymore (ec is going down).
Crazy how uneven they are growing...
I got to get me healthier clones next time :(
From here it should be another week or so to fill the screen, and then the fun part starts :)

hey unity how is your grow going man I loved your last 600 go hope this one is going well for you I wish I could get my hydro set up like you especially since I am now enjoying the SCROG method as well it seems like the only way to get my screen an ideal 6 inches above the canopy so I am not wasting valuable days of the year vegging to my screen when I could be flowering. I understand how the water is pumped from the res through the spaghetti and dripped in I just don't understand how it is returned! also if water sits in the buckets or not also very afraid of bugs in the water that sits until then I am stuck to coco hand watering.

Hope this grow is turning out right for you I would imagine your going to flip or have already flipped about this time now

Cheers Dapio :) How are things? Nice, that you are giving scrog a try, I think you'll like it once you get the hang.
I have been having some trouble with this grow, mainly due to me re-using the hydroton and not rinsing it proper. I ended up pulling one of the four, but to be honest only one of the remaining 3 is growing at the right rate. No big deal though, we try shit, sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't, so is life ha!
They went 12/12 about 10 days ago and everything is looking good now. As to the Rocklock strain, not my favorite that is sure. It grows like a complete cluster fuck bro, I mean shoots and lanky shit everywhere. Don't know about the high yet, but I just don't like plants that grow all 'ugly' like that lol. I'll get some pics up later, been really busy lately, and let the journal get away from me, but the interesting part is just about to start ...
So, as to your grow, do you maintain a res at this point or do you mix a fresh batch of nutes every watering?

Just mix nutes in a gallon jug at the moment each watering takes only about two gallons I ph it to hydro levels for coco haven't had any deficiencies in son time except a couple fan leaves developing yellow circles in the middle

The change in ppms of the multiple gallon res is what I worry about and man this scrog is starting to stink I got roughly 30 days left if it doesn't show that endless sativa trait going to have to find a way to keep the stink down two plants who would of thought haha

Just picked up a few clones from the clinic. I got the rocklock as a second guess after wanting to try it for a while. I don't know why yours is lanky, they are supposed to grow short. But since I bought the 3 clones, the 2 I really wanted have died almost immediately in the 5 days I've had them. The Blackwater OG had systemic PM when I brought it home and didn't know it, and the OGiesel just completely rejected the grow medium and died today. Everything else is doing fine, except that one dispensaries clones, I got clones from 2 other sources that day and they are all doing fine.

But anyways, post pics up soon dude, I'm very interested.

I have a bit of exp on rocklock. Its not the easiest to grow in my opinion.

I started with a few sicks ones.(That i still bought). Super stunted growth. When everyone was around 12-18inch the Rocklocks were still not showing growth and leaves were dying!!! Even sadder news 2 other clones i bought died on delivery:sad:

I still did not give up on the rocklocks!

Cheers Duku:) Yep, seems we have similar problems ha! A long 9 weeks, but she is looking well!
I started out with 4, stunted the shit out of all of them. I think it was caused by my 'hot' medium, but maybe not. Mine were also sicklish when I got them. After about 2 weeks of TLC one of them stated to come around, the other 3 just remained dwarfed. Eventually I pulled the slowest one, so I could make room for the one that was blowing up. So now I have one plant that is growing a little jungle and 2 plants that suck along, looking like a different strain all together. It's the same though, they have the same structure, just dwarfed :(
Well, I'll put up some pics, see for your self lol.

See, looks like 2 different strains, but it is not, 2 of the 3 are just stunted. What I thought was strange is that it appears that the stunted ones are further along as it relates to bud development. Strange, strange...

Cheers Joz, it seems that our ganja gods are not favoring our Rocklock grows lol, we all seem to have some initial problems. But only the stunted ones look short and stout to me, but you be the judge, what do you think?

Dapio, I have 0 experience with coco, but just make sure you water enough (or deluded enough) as to not build up salts in your medium! That has always been a concern of mine when I was hand watering my grow ;)
I'll cruise over to your grow :)

would salts build up in my medium even if the plants show no sign of nute burn or deficiencies a.k.a look perfectly healthy what would that do to me
