all closers started as starters where i worked then.
had to go verbatim as a starter, you could add your own touch to the script as a closer.
edit: all of this was before "no call lists" and other such anti-telemarketing legislation. i was for it then as i am now, even though it could have put me out of a job back then.

What crap. This "it's for the children" stuff has been adopted by the right now and it is no more valid.
"oh oh, what are we doing to the CHILDREN!!". Pity the CHILDREN. as though this is the first time we have left some of our situation for our children to handle. My generation was left with a cold fucking war and a huge bill. My generation was given a line of crap while we were being sent to a country that they told us was the first in a row of dominoes, to be shot and killed. I don't hear the right attempting to protect our children from the results of global warming, from our penchant for burning fossil fuels, from the ever more elevated levels of mercury or lead or PCBs in their bloodstream no, that isn't a problem, the only problem is that we are "saddling our children with debt".
