I did it for almost a half hour before I took a break and never came back
kirby vacuum cleaners.
My lead list was the white pages of the telephone book.
i sold dish TV straight out of the phone book, commission only for a couple weeks along with a buddy of mine. he was much better than i was. the pay was $90 a sale.

in the first week, we worked about 20 hours and he racked up 14 sales to my three sales. 13 of his canceled and none of mine did. he left the job after that citing that it "pummeled his confidence". i didn't blame him. i got no sales the next week and decided that cold calling out of the white pages was not for me.

I cannot think of a job I hated more in my life than cold calling people to sell them products

1913 was the year that the IRS and Federal Reserve were created.
Don't forget 1913 was the first time marijuana was made illegal (California). It was also the year that states no longer appointed Senators and they became elected.

The USA hasnt actually existed since 1861. some would argue that even before that. under the articles of confederation it required there be a unanimous vote for laws to be accepted. when the constitution was presented, not everybody accepted it, but they ran with a 2/3rds majority vote, even tho that was not acceptable at the time. So in effect, the Constitution was never properly ratified to begin with.
