Do you know the guy, or just repeating something you hear on a site somewhere?
So.many haters when someone doesn't want to deal with all the bull that gets thrown at them.
He explained why some of his seed prices are on the higher end.
A whole room to dedicate to a seed run, knowing that he is only going to get a few hundred seeds. The cost factor on this has to be passed on.
And no one forcing anyone to buy his gear.
So what's your problem hater?

If over half the industry hates the guy, I don’t think you can call them haters.

And how does someone devote a whole room to breeding and end up with a few hundred seeds? He should be getting that off a single female. It’s not like he’s not doing things the same way as everyone else.

Hating someone just because other people do is the same reason racism still exists.
Also, not every plant breeds the same...some strains are more difficult to breed and produce minimal amounts of seed. OGKB being a prime example, and also MAC1. Not every plant produces copious amount of seed when pollinated.

these were listed on the Attitude seedbank but I have noticed that they have taken a couple of the pictures down now (I wonder why!) it seems highly unlikely that they were posted in error as they were posted on the riot site as well, in fact the Riot Double Black Doja is still showing the 2006 Black russian image.

Capulator straight up says not to use Mac1 in crosses. But I guess Riot is only using that cut and OGKB for his crosses. Right. Never mind you can get OGKB crosses from about a dozen breeders for a reasonable price.

And holy fuck, comparing people not liking Riot to racism...talk about false equivalences. There are reasons why most in the breeding game don’t like Riot that extend beyond basic prejudice, other than the natural prejudice all people have against assholes.

I'm a big fan of your work, gen. You and I have always gotten along well on this forum. That is why I'm taking this moment to warn you, dude, stay far away from Matt Riot.

Here's my history with Matt Riot:

Matt Riot and I were both members of The Seed Depot forum, when it was still up and running, so this goes back a few years. Matt had been talking up his genetics in his breeders thread and it peaked my interest. So I throw "Riot Seeds" into Google to find out more. The second listing in the search was for Matt Riot's facebook, so I clicked on it. While reading thought the page I notice that Matt's real life facebook was linked to his seed company's facebook. Meaning his real life identity and location were available to the public. So I go back on TDS forums and tell Matt. He's says he didn't know that info was out there and he thanks me for telling him so he can fix it.

A couple of days later, around a dozen brand new TDS forum members, with their very first post, start accusing me of trying to expose Matt Riot's identity. I tell them that's not the case at all, you actually have it backwards, just ask Matt. But Mr. Riot stayed absolutely silent and doesn't say a word. These new members say that they're friends with Matt in real life and that he said that I was trying to expose his identity. They stated that Matt was too scared to even go online anymore and that's why he wasn't responding. Ultimately I was banned for trying to expose a forum members identity, which just to reiterate, is the exact opposite of what I did. Once I was banned, Matt Riot began posting again, and started by saying "Fuck that guy, I'm glad he got banned, that's what he gets for trying to grass me out! He deserves worse!"

The moral of this tale, regardless of any other accusations against Matt Riot, I can tell you from first hand experience that the guy is not stable. Just look at how he responded to me, thanks me one day, then the next day makes up a bunch of puppet accounts to get me banned from the site. WTF?
Matt Riot can not be trusted on any level and is a danger to everyone he interacts with.

Thanks,I never ordered anything from him,so I always was wondering where the emails was coming from. Scary to think about.

Some strains are notoriously hard to breed with, and don't pollinate very well.
I have had this experience several times as well.

Who knows, maybe he got super paranoid, and reacted out of that paranoia badly.
Cause if identity is exposed, you can be looking at some serious jail time.
So wouldn't take that personal.

Okay, lets try to follow your logic.

Riot gets super paranoid that his identity got exposed (by his own sloppiness, mind you). So he attacks the one person, who for sure saw his information, and could therefore expose him? Wouldn't you want to make friends with that person rather than make an enemy of them? Remember I approached him with this information on good terms, as a friendly heads up, and he initially responded in kind.

Paranoid, or not, he fucked up, and then took his frustration out on me.
That is a complete bitch move. So, I'm sorry, but your logic just doesn't hold up.

And? Riot is playing the same game as everyone else, using the same toys, but his product costs many times anyone else. And it’s not like there’s big demand for them either, not like aficionado. It’s just not a valid excuse for his prices. He intentionally produces small batches of seeds and lists high prices to create the impression of them having a high value.

The only exception - Smellboat. I’ve heard from many people that Smellboat breeds some high quality stuff. I don’t know if they’re worth the super high prices, but at least you know with his product the quality is good. Cant say I’ve heard the same about Riot.

And how can you possibly defend his actions? There’s an abundance of information in this thread alone that shows he’s an unstable asshole. There are so many breeders around now. Why support and defend this prick?
