The 'real' chav's come/came from East London.

The 'Essex' set from TOWIE were the children of the 'chavs' that made good and moved out to the leafier suburbs.

The term 'chav' has now been mis-appropriated to describe mainly young, working class people of England. Its not cool when used like this.

I already said, the chav accent that is just un-understandable is too much. I'm just saying like listen to the up tight accent of Daniel Radcliff VS The laid back accent of Russel Brand (who American's do have a hard time understanding sometimes still).

Still a bit of a chav. Russel Brand however has no problem scoring on even the roughest estates in London though! Lol

In Florida I met a bunch of Jamacians and Hatians and stuff, and some of them had English accents, but you could tell it wasn't from England... I don't really know what's up with the Island dialects though, I've only been to North Cuba (Which is what they call South Florida :lol: )

I haven't read this whole thread so forgive me if i'm missing something obvious, but this is spot on. Chavs and Rich both have a horrendous grasp of the English language, as do Americans, Canadians, and Australians. Honestly the academics and foreigners are the only ones who understand the difference between "you're" and "your" any more.

Anyway, the OP is off point slightly as the "main two" are actually a "main 4" and they're Scottish, English, North Irish, and Welsh. Chav/nonchav is a secondary distinction within each of these categories. Find a posh Scot and a ned and see how they match to a chav and a posh English person; they don't.

Everyone that has lived there for a while and has seen how much it is NOT part of America :lol: They also say "Florida is the only state where the further North you go, the more Southern it gets." :lol:

jesus. i know the internet is full of language-mangling dipshits but that is just not true. there are plenty of natives in all of those countries who grasp the language perfectly.

i may not bother with capitalization in casual online chit-chat, but please for the love of god do not accuse me of not understanding the intricacies of my mother tongue based other people's command of the language. it's insulting.
