Reviwed MM Bill Introduced in Special Session

CDC is against it but I actually like the bill. Bottomline (to: CDC) is that it should be the perview of the city or county on how they handle MMJ. If people don't like the local laws, then get out and change them. Also CDC objected the data-base, but if you actually read the bill, it says that you can still have a affirmative defense if you DID NOT register with the data-base. So that makes it a personal choice if you want the raid protection but if you get raided you still can get out of state prosecution. All in all, this bill is better than what is happening now which is a defacto BAN on all dispensaries. CDC really needs to look at the short-to-medium term as well as long term. I see where they are coming from but they are a little too activist right now for getting things to a point where many people will be put out of jobs, resources and basically forces them to operate in the black market. Comments?

I see a huge problem with the non-profit status for dispensary's....As it reads now;

"Nonprofit patient cooperative" means a member run nonprofit corporation registered with the secretary of state under chapter 24.03 or 24.06 RCW but which is not required to be recognized as an organization under 26 U.S.C. Sec. 501(c)(3) by the federal internal revenue service."

You can't run a business without any tax write-offs and they will be diss-allowed as the non-profit status won't be recognized by IRS. Dispensary's end up with huge IRS bills that essentially close them down...without any raids or arrests.

"marijuana is classified as controlled substance under federal law. Under the Internal Revenue Tax Code, deductions are not allowed for business trafficking controlled substances.
Which means dispensaries cannot claim deduction for business purchases, employee hiring, leasing of office space, etc.."

the gov't is not stupid, they know that you are not going to waste you excess marijuana and just sell your quota. How does this work (the gov't says your plant will yield 1 oz, and you make it yield 9) SO you are supposed to be honest and toss 8 oz's ??

Ridonkulous set up, but great for providers\growers. rec users, patients, ect.................

I think the bill sounds great. If you take the time to read it, there are some really solid amendments in there. I liked the part about the database, especially where it said for patients it was completely voluntary, but if you do it seems you would have a little easier time if legal trouble arose. Anyways, good bill! Now pass it!

One concern is that some states are Trying to pass laws that MMJ card holders cannot also have a Concealed Hangun License.

I heard about that, too. I thought that was a federal thing, my memory is awful though. I about 26% sure it was federal. :joint:
