Replacing your day job with growing pot outdoors.

Is it possible? Do ya'll know anybody who solely makes their living off growing cannabis?

Take for example, if someone wanted to grow outdoors in let's say, a state or national park, and average 30-40 lb's per year, is it doable? How many outdoor growers get busted for growing in forests?

I'm entertaining the idea, I don't want to be working inside a cubicle for the rest of my life.

More often than getting busted you get robbed or camped by the feds. A much better plan would be to keep your day job and buy land...live on that land and cultivate it. If you end up making enough to quit more power to ya.

I was making 5 figures a month growing and still kept my day job that only paid 17.50 an hour at the time. I was real glad i did too after we got robbed and ahit went downhill. One factor is that if you have never had lots of money before....you fucking spend it like crazy...i did at least. I would gamble 3-4000 in a night...buy new clothes instead of washing them...give females outrageous gifts..

Point being with easy money it can come and it can go...bills never go away.

Plus...having a job makes it much easier to explain having things that cost money. I have family that grow large amounts of heeb and still keep part time jobs and pay taxes.

Right now we're in a cannabis bubble that's about to crash. Prices about to drop because we have so much legal home grown weed plus all the imported weed that's still coming from the cartels. Doing this full-time would be really hard. You'd have to grow, harvest, and cure (that's the easy part) and do it consistently without getting to much of your product discovered and ripped off. Then transport it and connect with trusted buyers who are willing to pay your asking price. Getting rid of a few ounces is easy. Getting rid of 30-40 pounds is gonna take skills and really good contacts. Might have to frequently cross state lines to move that much.

Every dealer that I know that's held onto pounds has served jail time at some point. One guy got ratted out by his 16 yr old son who was pissed because the dad didn't like his new girlfriend. Even on these forums I constantly read about growers who know their shit getting busted.

I've seen OZ's of schwag dropping as low as 60 bucks. Its been decades since I've seen that happen. IMO thats a little closer to what its worth as opposed to 45 a quarter O. For end users, its all good. This is the reason I took to putting seed to the ground myself.

I still have a hard time with today's prices and I cant help but call people idiots who spend that much for WEED.
I simply wont spend my hard earned cash on overflated, ridiculous priced weed. Which is the number 1 reason I grow my own.

The biggest pot bust in Colorado's history was being grown on national forest property, I wonder if the charge/sentence is different for growing on federal property, I do know it's popular out here and there are several busts a year.

Put your first money in the bank and keep it there. Public defenders suck. You'll want a really good criminal attorney from the get go. Tell the cops your name and address and show ID if asked. Then don't say another thing. Don't lie to the lawyer about a single thing. It's confidential.

BTW growing on lands like national and state parks enhances the charges and invites well-armed pork.

actually I do know someone that made there sole living by growing and selling cannabis, they got cuffed, placed in their front yard in their underwear and THEN flashbanged abd this is in a medical state. They can get in your tax records or wtfever they want. Also I don't know if it's rumor or what but the big bad violent criminals likes em some pot growers/peddlers in prison.

Then I'm sure you wouldn't be comfy in a cell for a few years. keep your day job.
Ditto. Just not worth it! Growing a bunch to sell would be easy but
getting rid of it, enough to make money, would be the hard part. Have to get out of the shadows to start selling, alot of people start to know what your doing and you'll eventually get busted and locked up, or robbed. Never sold so this is just specualtion but how I see it going. Good luck with what you do though.

another idea is to grow your weed and grow other plants such as vegetables and herbs and sell them at a farmers market. herb go 2 dollars for a bundle and you can grow alot of herbs in a small area.

You bet. One time I grew snow peas in Southern Colorado. Ordered 2 packs of seeds mid-winter. Planted them all. Damn. Let me tell you that 2 packs of snow peas grow out a ton of fricking snow peas. Daily when they start ripening. For a long time if you keep up with it. Sold them daily to a high end restaurant whose only demand was I sell all my crop to just them and didn't balk at my price.

Herbs are very pricey if they are in first rate shape, ripe and everything that that herb is supposed to be.

Kids I'm way over the hill here. NM native, grew up in TX, NM. Growing since 1964. Here it is in capsule form - all the wisdom in the world for the simple if they learn nothing else - "There ain't no free lunch".

All my friends have been to jail. My extra-cautious nature has kept me free but not out of several investigations. Big ones. That border region is fueled by smuggling. People and drugs north, cars, trucks, farm equipment south. Yes that stuff. Tariffs on outside goods make outside goods out-of-reach for most Mexicans. That's their goal! buy Mexican or buy whatever is already in MX.

The lure of easy money.
