Reconsidering CFLs, thinking 150/250hp - advice?s

Hi Guys.

Been researching heaps on this forum now. Only ever grown outdoors, and want to have a crack at indoor.

I have a mate building me a cabinet with the following dimensions to fit a spot in my garage.

Height: 1.8 meters (nearly 6 foot)
Width:1.2 Meters (nearly 4 foot)
Depth: .6 Meters (nearly 2 foot)

I will be lining this cabinet with mylar, and will attempt a DWC setup.

At first i was hooked on a cfl setup when i first signed up to RIU. After reading benefits on cost/heat etc etc.

However the more i read the more i am thinking HPS is the go.

I am looking at veging and flowering 2 plants in this cabinet. Do you think 150HPS will cut it or should i just go and get the 250hps. Please take size of cabinet into consideration

I have made a fan controller at work to run 3 PC fans (2 in, 1 exhaust) I will also have a 30cm fan to blow the air around inside the cabinet.

Also, with the bulbs for the HPS, like CFLS, do i need a certain type for veggin' and certain type for flowering (ie: 6400/2700)

I have read heaps of posts, and everyone has there own opinions, which has thrown me a little, however if someone could spend the time and give me some straight up advice, that would be great. This is my first of many attempts of growing indoors, so i can only learn from any mistakes i make.

you can't get a 6400 K conversion bulb except for a 600 watt ballast that I know of.
I prefer to use some 6500 K CFLs for veging seedlings as it's more energy efficient but you can get by with just a HPS through out your entire grow.
Oh, and I go with a 400 watt light if you can keep it cool enough in your cabinet.

Sounds good mate, so i will veg with 6400 cfls till the plant gets to desired height, then i will switch to the HPS for flower. How much space will i need from the bottom of the lamp to the top of the tree? and will the plant grow much more in height when i change the cycle to 12/12.
