A Northern Michigan narcotics enforcement team ended a drug investigation that started in the fall of last year.

Members of SSCENT and the Ludington Police Department executed a search warrant at a home on Whitter, and police arrested a man at a Ludington home Tuesday for possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

Inside the home, detectives found an undisclosed amount of marijuana and items used to sell it.

The man has yet to be formally arraigned in court.

This is kinda of a crazy separate story, here's the part that gets me...
"The U.S. Attorney's Office announced in 2013 it would begin using the Hobbs Act to prosecute armed robberies in Flint. Typically, it is used to target robbers who hit stores that sell items like cheese, soda and beer produced out-of-state. However, prosecutors are attempting to extend this protection of interstate commerce since the heroin the alleged victim sold was produced from poppies not grown in Michigan. While the tactic to extend this protection to illegal narcotics is rare, experts say it has been successfully used previously."

Kind of sad the officer had open intoxicants as well, that isn't no accident-mistake, just total disregard for the law he is to uphold .

And its BS about his sister being arrested, of course she got upset seeing her brother getting arrested but still the jerk cops had to haul her in as well...maybe she was drunk too and acting crazy but that isn't illegal if she isn't driving.

IDK about this world

I guess the sister was being conbative and hostile. Then tried to kick out the window when they put her in a cruiser.

I wonder how often this happens where the drunk cops just get off the hook. Probable all th time.
And I'm not sure about the world either. Lol

Late 80's in Big Rapids my roommates got pulled over by the local fuzz mid afternoon, all were drunk, the officers asked some dude walking down the street if he drive these guy home-which was a few blocks down the street, he agreed and he laughed while driving that he had no drivers license.

Things were cooler before video cameras were everywhere..and these "safer" air bag cars without real bumpers came along, now cops freak out for DUI and for more good reasons. Getting killed in low speed crashes didn't happen with those full size 50-60-70's cars ,

ST. IGNACE -- Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team EAST Team (UPSET EAST) executed a search warrant on a residence in the City of St. Ignace.

The residence was located on 198 High Street. During the search, detectives found and seized 46 marijuana plants, around 1.5 pounds of processed marijuana and various quantities of hemp oil and marijuana butter.

The two occupants have Medical Marijuana Patient and/or Caregiver cards, but were found to be non-compliant with the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.

No arrests were made, but the investigation remains ongoing pending review by the Mackinac County Prosecutor.

I heard this last night and posted it. About an hour later I talked to someone at the marquette raid. So that did happen.
I haven't heard anything else about the other raids to know if they are true. But the person at the marquette raid said that the pot doc they used was at another dispensary that was raided yesterday, but it was ludington or some shit.
We have been out of town, then had a bad dog incident and haven't been out much the last week. but hopefully a lot will come out today.
I found it hard to believe that there would be 8 dispensaries raided in saginaw and this forum not know about it, that's why I posted.
DEA was at marquette raid, their funding apparently isn't too cut.
Thats what I had posted about Eric H's claim. Reading it correctly I walked away with "The federal government isn't supporting the monetary side of the DEA's raids" but that's not going to stop them from doing raids, they'll just have less funding. They'll get all the funding they need from stealing it from growers and dispensaries. Operation "Green Merchant #2"

As a matter of fact, it states the exact opposite. I don't really feel like digging up the language to copy and paste here but in a nutshell it states that it is a violation of the MMMA to allow a person other than the caregiver or patient inside of the grow. Their warrantless "inspections" can fuck right off. If I am not mistaken, you would be breaking the law by even bringing a police officer into the grow without a search warrant.
Here it is i believe .

Pursuant to MCL 333.26426 / ( H )( 3 ) , All law enforcement personel should contact the Michigan Dept of Health , Compliance Manager , or Program Coordinator to verify that the Registry Id is valid before entry of premise.

Furthermore Pursuant to MCL 333.2646 / ( H ) ALL illicit property that is possessed , owned , or used in connection with said Medical Operation , Storage ect , or acts incidental to such use SHALL NOT BE SEIZED or FORFEITED ,any person who takes posession or otherwise damages the materials on said premises will be committing a felony . Any Law Enforcement Personal that entered said premises without warrant , or who secured a warrant without full disclosure of the foregoing information to the court , BEFORE proceeding with any search & or seizure will be in violation pursuant to MCL 333.26426 ( H ) & subject to prosecution .

I think that paragraph neatly sums up our rights as growers , caregivers & users to legally deny entry to any & all LEO , it also makes their excuse of forced or coerced entry based on " in plain view " or " heavy odor emminating from building " secondary to our rights to refuse entry or search based on MCL 333.26421, which guarantees our right to posess & grow Medical Marijuana without prosecution .

Not sure if thats the info you were thinking about or not , you are correct about WILLINGLY ALLOWING any non authorized personel into your grow op being against the law weather they be LEO or regular folk , the fire marshall of Flint warned me about that tactic when i had my grow inspected before bringing plants in .

I would love to see prosecution happen, just once..Ok maybe a million times. Then those idiots would think twice before randomly raiding everyone or group involved with care giving.
