Alright, I just came back from Canadian Tire and have acquired the following amenities for my soil:

1 bag Schultz Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss
1 bag Schultz Perlite
1 box C-I-L Blood Meal (12-0-0)

Now before I mix I want to give you guys the opportunity to recommend any supplemental ingredients for the soil that are relatively easy to find (I substituted Worm Castings for Blood Meal as I cant find worm castings outside of eBay).

As of right now, my ratio is:

45% peat moss
15% perlite
20% Blood Meal

which means I have a room for another 20%. I was thinking about vermiculite however since I already have perlite for drainage and root strength it may not be necessary.

Also, how well will the plants fair in a mix like this seemingly devoid of nutrients (other than the Nitrogen from the blood meal). Are there any organic fertilizer mixes with Phosphorous and Potash that can be added when mixing soil? If so, are they readily available?

Thanks guys.

Truthfully you should add more perlite, 15% isnt very much. Mabye boost it up 2 30 percent? And mabye for the last bit, Drown a bunch of worms. And mix them up with the soil. Make sure there dead, and theyll rot. Theres worm castings right there. Ive never tried this. But it seems like a

Add some dolimitic lime to the soil, as a PH buffer & trace mineral source. It's sometimes called 'soil sweetener.'

Nice. I have just placed an order for a set of summertime buddha seeds from my local seed dispensary, should be planted in a couple weeks time.

Again dolomite lime at 1 tablespoon per gallon this will give cal/mag, and help with the acidity of the peat moss. I would at least double the perlite. The blood meal is hot, be careful not to burn your plants 20% seems like a hell of alot of blood meal! My mix is 1 pt peat moss, 1pt perlite, ( both non mg), 1 pt mushroom compost, and the lime. Bat guano is always a good soil amendment that has phosphorus and potassium, it's good for flowering. There is also bat guano meant for vegging.

Can I get dolomite lime from a garden center, home depot, canadian tire, or other major retailer/garden center?
