i'd germinate first!

however, i have in the past just placed the seed in rapidrooters...gave them some water...put the humidity dome on and placed on the heating pad under some florous and they germed....but i wouldnt recommend it unless you got bagseed and can dial it it!

I like rapid rooters but I am a bit unsure about how to keep them moist. In my experience they dry out fairly quickly. What do people do to keep them moist after the germinated seed have been placed in the cube? Spray them? Pour water into the bottom of the tray?
Thanks!

Pour water in tray, make sure all are soaked for a few minutes, then drain off excess. If it all soaks up you didn't water enough.

I use these things all the time and if you dont do the following you most likely will have problems(rotted seeds, sowing too deeply etc)-Here is how to get 100 percent germ rates using rapid rooters.First, germ using the paper towel method with a heating pad set at around 80.When your seeds pop and the root tips a quarter inch or so,1: wet the rapid rooters in distilled water and cut about a quarter inch of the top of the rapid rooter off(they mass produce these things, and the holes are too deep for cannabis seeds-you only want your hole to be around 3 to 5mm deep, and somewhat snug around the seed.2: with a pair of tweezers pull off bits of an unused rapid rooter and gently cover the seed you just planted-this allows your seed to be warm, but doesnt constrict the seed and allows more O2 to the seed.3:gently squeeze bottom of the rapid rooter-these things are like sponges-get rid of that loose water so its moist but airy.4:DO NOT place the rapid rooter tray(the one holding all of your seeds)into a tray with water in it!!!!Place the rooter tray with the moist rapid rooters directly onto a heating pad set at around 75 to 80 degrees-I do this every single time and usually only have to remoisten the rooters once per day, even in conjunction with the heating pad.Do these steps and they WILL all pop the surface.Sounds like a pain in the ass but the seeds really do take off in these things.Ive germed in rockwool, coco, soil and these things and rapid rooters are definitely the easiest to work with and the fastest.

not sure how clear this is going to come out but I cut off about a quarter inch of the rapid rooter, placed the germed seed into the modified hole(top of the seed should almost be even with the rest of the rapid rooter.)then pulled off a small peice of the plug and placed it over the seed and kept it moist by gently spraying the bottom of the rapid rooter, keeping it moist but not wet and placing on the heating pad-This seed popped the surface the next day. This one is Serious Chronic.

Rapid rooters are awesome. I just dig out enough soil in the pot the plant will grow in and stick the rapid rooter into that hole so it is flush with the surface of the soil. Then, just as the guy below me says, Take a 1/4" deep tiny notch in the top of the rooter. Place the seed right there only 1/4" down, then cover it with the tiny notch of rooter. Just give it a tiny splash of water every day and you will have 100% germination rate. You dont need a ton of light on it. Dont keep it too close either and it wont dry out so fast. Should pop in less than 72 hrs. They are perfect for germinating in and you dont have to deal with other methods. If you are growing in soil, then you dont have to do anything because it is already dug into the soil.
