Rain and buds

Rain isnt going to hurt your plants unless it rains alot and the humidity is high for a while, like if it rains everyday for a week then your gonna wanna harvest early if it just rains once its not gonna affect your buds because they can dry out. It all just depends on how much rain there is an how mold resistant your plants are. If you see any signs of mold destroy the branch/plant imediatly and you would want to consider harvesting early. you should shake off rain water and morning dew if you are concerned.

how does rain effect buds and should I harvest before or after it rains? what should you do if it rains?
As others have said, the biggest problem with rain is that it leaves your plant vulnerable to mold. Rainy weather toward the end of the growing season is usually the biggest problem, because the weather's cooler and the buds can stay wet for days.

As for the second question, if you've got a choice it's much better to harvest before it rains. You really don't want to harvest wet buds if you can avoid it. Big no-no, unless you like moldy, rotten weed. And personally I never did.

Third question? Wear a hat, I guess. Not much you can do. If it rains, it rains. Am I misunderstanding the question?

If you starve a plant of water for a few weeks before harvest it increases potency. So before rain is good.
