DTR I think the patches really help take the edge off... I had the EPIC dreams on the patch, vivid and detailed, on the edge of nightmare but not bad. Like a rollercoaster. What they don't help with is the triggers that make you wanna have a smoke, and that's still hard to deal with. Good luck to you and quitting...if you really want it, you'll get there.

Man the patch just keep your body in the withdrawl process.
The way i quit was to just stop an smoke twice as much weed for a few weeks. Eat suckers an candy also, cause most of your addiction is a oral fixation?
Its all about pain tolerance, if you can handel alot of pain, you can handel the craving for cigs also.
The first 4 days were hard, after that the physical addicion is about gone an its just the habbit your figthing.
I quit for 6 yrs an got drunk once at a stip bar an started smoking again.
NEVER EVER PUFF ONE AGAIN OR YOU WILL BE SMOKING AGAIN.

Dam i need quit again also.

Good luck!

good luck to all the quitters out there!!! i quit after 25+ years of smoking, it will be 2 years in september. drink plenty of water to help flush the toxins and put yourselves in situations that you can't smoke. one of the biggest bennys of a none smoker is you don't stink like an ashtray.

When I quit it was cold turkey, that was part of my wifes deal. I played alot of games on my ps3, chewed alot of gum and smoked alot of pot.

Hey man you inspired me to quit smoking!
Im going to try this week.
Just bought 3\4 a zip of some kind an getting a HUGE bag of dumdum suckers to try it.
Plus i think i have bronchitus witch could become cronic or COPD, been smoking about 15 yrs.
Its bound to kill me soon, an I would rather spend that money on weed lol.

Good luck, BE STRONG!!!

Keep us updated an i will keep you updated with my atempt?

I wish you all the best of luck. I know you can quit. Think positive. There is life after quitting cigarettes, a better one. Remember keep those hands busy. The only things you should put to your mouth is food, water, your ole lady's lips, and a good ole doober, pipe, or bong which ever you prefer. I got faith in all of you. Been two years for me and still counting. You can do it to. I know you can. You'll be glad you did. I promise.

I have a way to quit smoking that worked really good for me. I got locked up in county for about 6 months, i smoked a pack a day before, but there is now way to get cigarettes in there, your lucky to get a ramen soup. so i decided that since i couldnt smoke i would start running, since my lungs would be healthier. so i started running around 2 basket ballcourts that we had for an exercise area. When i started i could only do a few laps, but pretty soon I could run around it for like an hour. when I got out i didn't start smoking again, but i kept running. My advice would be to try to do something healthy instead of smoking, like going to the gym or running or yoga or riding your bike or even walking if your in bad shape. You will be amazed how strong you get when you quit smoking.

originally i found smoking cigarettes after joints gets your higher, 6 months ago i quit for 3 months (til i went out drinking, had one, had another one 2 days later, etc got back into it...) but found that after quitting for a couple weeks I got way more stoned off of joints- im assuming that some of the aveoli were starting to clear up in my lungs. on a side note ive played soccer/baseball for 13 years and have worked out 5x a week for the last few years..even smoking a pack a day and 2-8 grams of weed a week, I can still run 10k without stopping in decent time

one thing I would suggest is going to the gym, light cardio/workout then going down for a swim/steamroom..even if I havent had a smoke all day, when you come out of the steamroom you dont want a smoke, you feel cleansed, rejuvenated and clear minded; i would sometimes go hours after the gym without even thinking of smoking

replace smoking with the addiction of going to the gym-the first 5-10 times when you first start out might seem tedious and a hastle, but it becomes addictive and almost feels like you're wasting a day if you dont work out (plus you get nicely high after a good lung pump)

i need to quit soon, as I was typing i think i incorporated a little of what im going to try and do in the next 2 weeks when i start school..i have to for my health and wallet, where i live packs are $9-$13, so i spend on average $250 a month smokin

good luck on the battle bro, ill be joining you soon

Wow I noticed the same thing. Used to think I would get way higher after smoking one, but now that it's been a week without I feel like I'm buzzin for longer and the high is significantly more intense.

And thanks for the support guys it really helps. I hope everyone in this thread is able to give em' up for good.

As I mentioned It's been exactly a week for me and I don't plan on lookin back!! bongsmilie

another thing about not smoking is your not going to find a new wealth of money in your pocket but it makes being broke a lot easier. i remember rolling pennys to buy some smokes. what a moron i was....
