Quiet exhaust fans?

I've got 2 of the vortex 6" s line' I've not set them up for my grow yet but I've plugged them in and let them run for a half hour and they are basically silent. While both of them are running they sound no louder than 30 db. That's very quiet, less noise than most peoples bathroom fans. They are a bit pricey but if you shop around you can find them for cheap.

If you ever get the urge to spend money on exhaust try Terra Bloom 6" Silent Series, 20 db at full throttle.
I was looking at those fans before I decided on the vortex fans. They looked pretty good with price. The wattage was a bit high and I saw lots of complaints of them burning out or becoming obnoxiously loud before they had had it for a month. Alot of people also stated that they do not honor their warranty. The reason I went with the vortex is because I got them at a steal of a price, I didnt see any complaints about them and they come with a 10 year factory warranty. You pay a little more but for the piece of mind and warranty you cant go wrong. Personally I think if a company puts a 10 year warranty on a product there is no way its crap nor can you go wrong.

How long have you had your inline? Anything you like about it or dislike about it & does it have a warranty? My friend is looking for cheap gear.

I just got my Hyper Fan Stealth in the mail today, 8" (shout out to amazon for not concealing the box smh). Only downside is that it is quite massive so idk if I'd ever call it stealth, but in terms of sound it is very very quiet considering that it is also powerful af. I have it dialed down to just under 50% and it shits all over my last 6" fan - it is powerful enough that one issue I had was keeping the duct from pulling itself down and on top of the led, getting suctioned to the heatsink fins! Anyway, if you want quiet but visual stealth is not important, I'd recommend it.

I have a 6" in Veg and 8" in bloom running since February and so far no issue's. No idea on warranty?? I bought it for noise level as this was my number one priority.

Skipper, they have a 10 year warranty. That was really what sold me on them. Obviously I didnt know if they were as quiet as advertised before I bought them. I can honestly say that they are very quiet and very well made. I like that you can remove the fan from the mounting bracket. I also like that it has a damper built right into it that you can remove. The damper does not matter as it's going to run 24/7 but it is a cool feature none the less. It's very light and just an all around nice product.

I use a silencer on top of my exhaust fan, still makes noise but not much. check the dims for them if one will fit in your tent. they cost around $60-$100

imo fans are a lot like tents.. My first tent and fan were high ticket items... Yet Im pretty much just as happy with the cheaper ones Ive gotten since.. 4x2 I'd get a 6er and turn it down a bit if you worried about sound
I gotta disagree here.... I am on my 3rd 6" inline fan on my 2nd exhaust.... still the 1st hydrofarm...

Them green hydrofarm fans aint no joke, lol. When this next one dies, its gonna be replaced with the HF fan... pays for its higher cost ater 2-3 years

Disagre with what? Ive got a hydrofarm.. paid right around $70 a few years back.. that was one of the cheaper fans I was talking about. Folks are talking about vortex fans etc.. go check the price on those joints and tell me if you think the hydrofarm counts as a high ticket item

You can get em for a good price if you shop around. That's the only reason I got 2 of them. If they were not on sale I would have gotten one with a basic 20 dollar duckt fan. Not ideal for intake but it's better than nothing. Get a cheap heppa filter cut it and put a bug bag over it and you will have no issues with dust or bugs getting sucked in the tent.

True that - that fan I just got was like $240 iirc. Worth it for me though.

I would suggest you shop around you can find em way cheaper than 240 bro! I mean do what you want it's your money but you can definitely find em cheaper than that. I would look and return that one.
You may be thinking of a different fan - this is hyper fan 8" stealth - it has the built in muffler and is like 2ft long. I got it off Amazon - I found it mildly cheaper other places but they charged $50+ for shipping, I got mine prime. Appreciate you lookin out though bro

I've got the 6" silent model n I loooooove it.
Insane static pressure and dialed down it only pulls like 3 - 6 watts.

O my fault, I thought you were implying you had the vortex. Those hyper fans are nice though. I was wanting them but could not find a deal. I'm not in any way cheap lol but it's always nice to be frugal especially when you're first getting set up. Those dollar savings add up and you can put the savings tword more BEANSS:hump:

I've got a question? I bought an automated thermostat. Like the ones you use for propagation mats but this one is made for inline fans. Would it be better to run my exhaust fan with that or one that you control manually? I'm trying to make my opp as automated as possible. that's why I chose that controller over the manual one. I also figured I cant screw up with temps because it will higher or lower the cmf based on what the temp is.

What's up Some Effin? I'm in the market for a fan+ filter for my soon to be converted 4x4 veg tent into a flower tent. I'm not running any exhaust in it atm. Just the exhaust from my flower tent (scrubbed air) and a few clip on fans does the job.
I have 3 maybe 4 fans in mind. The Hyper fan, Vortex S line, The new AC infinity cloud line T6 and the Terra bloom I have seen the skipper mention in a few posts.
Already know which ever fan I do decide to go with, it'll be attached to a phresh filter. Can't find any mountain airs. Lol I just can't decide on a fan! My 2-3 year old 6" hydrofarm is still doing it's thang in my main flower tent. It's just huge! I'm looking for a lower profile so as not to take up too much head space real estate.
What's the size profile like on your votex's?

Hey Cob, I had to leave my house because of carbon monoxide on Friday night. I've been at a hotel since then. I'm not sure about skamatics right off my head. I should be able to go home today and when I do, I'll give you the info and snap a few pics of the fan next to something of scale for you to get an idea. Its bigger than a standard inline but not by much. I think the hyper fan is bigger and has more weight than the sline. It was also a bit louder and pricier than the sline. I've been told you're the man to talk too about led'. I'm glad you posted because I couldn't figure out your name here lol I was told there is a guy here who knows alot about led' but that was all the info I got lol. I'm thinking about the hlg 4000k cob. What are your thoughts on that unit and is 4000k good for veg and flower from your opinion? I've read a bit about Kelvin but I'm having troubles understanding things:dunce:. My brain is overloaded with info and it's getting a bit overwhelming and hard to focus lol
