i was wondering if its better to start in a small pot and transfer to a bigger one when its time.. or do i just use the bigger pot?

You'll get a lot of opinions on this.

x-planting is the typical method. (less room while weeding out the weaklings)

I've read to x plant once.

its probly better to do 1 pot from start to finish to eliminate stress, as long as you water properly. dont overwater because of such a large pot and not much for a root system.

sometimes i start them in 1 gallon pots then transplant into 3 gallon pots when about 4 weeks old.
but i usually transplant twice. i use propogation trays and they stay in there for about 1 week after they pop through the soil. then they go to 1 gallon pots.
1) i can bury them a little deeper
2) not being in such a large pot i can fit more in the space under the lights.

they stay in 1 gal. pots for about 4 weeks or so. i transplant to 3 gallon pots about a week or 2 before going to 12/12. i trim lower stuff thats not doing much good about a day before transplant and bury it a little deeper.
the time is all just rough estimates, it all depends on when i have time or how big the plant is.

one year i recovered some badly neglected plants i had outside. it was fun transplanting 4 foot plants. lol
