Quick question, please answer.

My lights shut off early this morning. I have a 1000 watt agrostar ballast and a euroreflector. I tried changing bulbs and letting the light sit and cooldown. The light still won't turn back on. The ballast still hums when turned on. I tried a couple bulbs and none of them work. Do you guys have any idea what the problem is?

Not really the answer i was looking for. I bought the thing off my brother in law across state anyway. Anyone?

yeah, sent the pm.

ez fix, shouldnt need to replace the enitre ballast, just one part.

After an hour or 2 of fucking around it lit back up for some reason? But after unplugging it , it's back to the same problem.

Let it sit for an hour or so unplugged - then once its totally cooled down try it again.

It sounds like your ignitor is finished.
The problem wouldn't be with the capacitor as it wouldn't turn on at all if it were a problem with the capacitor ot the ballast its self.
I would say that you need to change your ignitor asap !!
I had the same problem a few years ago with a 250w Hps light !!
Cheap fix !! It only took me like 20 minutes to figure out but, I had no knowledge of lights or ballast at that point in my life.

Thanks for the replies!! Anyone else have any other opinions??

It's down to the capacitor or igniter...last post leaning towards the igniter.

Anyone? I need to grab a spare part by tomorrow. Most likely am going to have to take it out the ballast and bring it with me. Your helps appreciated!

if you bring the whole ballast to the grow store or hydro store you bought it from most likely they can and will test it. unless it is a huge store, don't be afraid to ask the guy behind the counter what he might think the problem is.

Like i said i bought the ballast across state from family. I took it to my local hydro store and they were annoyed that i brought it in. This sucks

So i just recieved my replacements today. Ignitor and capacitor. Going to attempt to replace them tonight....anyone wanna throw me some tips i have no idea what im doing lol.
