Im getting ready to start my first plant, but was wanting to do something other than growing in soil but i also dont wanna go all out with hydroponics. I heard about mixing perlite and vermiculite and using that as the grow medium. Has anyone tried this or heard and good stuff about it??

never heard of that. doing a small resevoir with clay beads isn't that expensive. why dont you want to do soil?

Probably not a good idea right off the bat. A 50/50 mix is about max you wanna go. There's vermiculite and other airators that will work.
You'll have to go all out hydro with anything more. The natural ferts in soil are extremly tricky to duplicate.

I got one in 50/50 coco-coir and miracle-gro it turn out male, but grew ok, still not as big as others. Organic is just as compicated but it don't cost an arm and leg.

Hemptys are hydro...

Here's a good artical on nutes...http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3158.html

Memorize this paragraph...

Some marijuana is difficult to grow because it requires an extremely careful balance of nutrients administered with precise timing; Berlin is a resilient and forgiving variety that grows well when it has access to adequate levels of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and micronutrients.

It's a frigin weed folks...why all the frigin bullshit?

well you obviosly dont know shit if your still using miracle gro granny. and ya its a weed. but if you treat it like a weed its going to look smell and taste like a weed. if you take care of your girls and pay attention like ismk is doing they will come out beautiful.

thanks for the all good info... the nutes do sound pretty tricky and that was my main concern, itll be a while before i get going, so all tips would be awesome.

just seein if your paying attension. Thanks for telling me ahead of time. I bought the stuff, transplanted all my girls, and then found out why they were over-nuted. Even the 'dirt' is not 'dirt' in this business.
