Questions to all who have trimmed before..... and loathed it.

Hii.

I want to ask you all a couple of questions. I am developing a hand held trimmer. It is going to make hand trimming look like the stone age.

I hate trimming. After spending all the time and energy to grow it... then having to sit down for days and days in a row; hunched over, hands hurting, cramping up and headaches. I wanted to make the process 35% faster and 80% less energy from the user in a hand held device.

We are getting our first prototype in 15 days. And when we have the patent in play I will post some photos for you all (5weeks or so).

Questions:

1) How long does it take YOU to trim a full pound.

2) If it increased throughput by 35%, required very little energy input and actually worked. Would you buy one?

3) How much money do you think is reasonable to pay for a trimming device?

Thanks
Cliddy

You're better off hand trimming. I feel like using a trimming machine destroys a lot of trichomes.

Depends on how well it trims. There are many out there that trim and only cost 200. But dosnt trim very well. Others that vist 2000 and do a better job but nothing like hand cut. Also would depend on if I need to nug after drying or befor. and how well it trims dry nugs and not gum up?

Something that can cut 1lb of dry bud and not gum up after 20 min and take 60 to clean. I think I would pay around 300-500 for. More if it can get 80% of what I can by hand. Also need a way to catch all the trim without needing a vac to suck it in. Don't like the large hum when I trim. I watch movies. I want to hear it. Something like that I would pay close to 1100 for. But I would want a money back garntee. If it isn't up to par. Also would help if it's easy on the hands. I have bad arthritis so I can't hold onto things well after awhile.

Jerk. Some of us suffer from dyslexia.
Me!! I read everything fine.

As for a price on something like that we would need more info. But know it's not possible yet. You need the Paten pending thing. I Hurd patent office is 5 years behind. So I'm guessing between 50 to 200 bucks.

Not you. Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Takes about 2 years to get a patent, but once you file you hold your place in line. The layer is getting all the paper work together.

It's a really cool device and is high quality (also has a green light on it, and an illuminating light). Just take the assumption at face value that it will increase time by 35% and reduce your energy input by 80%.

I'm guessing it's similar to this?

Not really that is a pos :)
The concept, I mean.

If the device is similar, I wouldn't be interested. I can trim closer, more precisely, and kinda/almost as fast. There's no noise and the effort is reasonable with spring-loaded scissors. And, I don't have to waste time worrying about keeping the blades clean; I simply grab another scissors and keep working.

If that's not what this is, then I'd need more info for a real answer.

i thought the spelling was fine.

i think it's a cool idea, but some of us out here like the whole 'trimmed lovingly by hand' aspect. luddites we are, i suppose.

i trimmed every day for 25 days straight last fall, 8-14 hours a day. i was sad once it was over, started trimming my lawn by hand. not really though.

Ohh Im so stoked to show you guys this product. Were going to be placing a couple of add on RUI when we get her in hand.

Every thing that your saying is exactly what we have tried to do. The idea was to replicate the hand motion we all currently do; but just a little faster and easier: and a few cool modes what are going to blow your mind.

It has a touch pad =)

Hey Warlock if you live in the so.cal area and see someone on the street corner holding a sign that says will trim for weed that me, I'll help u out, Lolz. I actually have been talkin to the mgr of the collective I go to in L.A would like to find a grower that needs help with their harvest this season and would pay me in bud or clones or w/e. I don't mind trimming that much, kinda fun I get an up close look at what all the work I put in has provided.

Your 1 week late. And I'm up the hill. If your close enough to me you know what that means. And I give my helpers a zip for 2 days work. What they do with it I don't care.
