Question about PC fans.

Hey all,

Figure I would ask here, as my eye's are giving out from reading post upon post! Lets say I had a 3x3x3 box (27 Cubic feet). If I was trying to stay stealth, would placing multiple exhaust fans ( eg. [ X X X ] , x being fans ) be ideal for this? Say I had 2-3 75CFM PC fans, would combining the 3 like explained before and not stacking aquire a more ideal cooling situation for 250w HPS ? Keep in mind, the ambient temperatures in the room stagger from 70-80. I would plan to have 1 of those 75-125cfm fans designated to a cooltube.

Any information appreciated.

get one of these, build a diy carbon scrubber and get a fan controller for it

fan controller... http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12489/bus-249/Sunbeam_20W_Rheosmart_PCI_Slot_Smart_Fan_Controller_-_PL-RS-PCI.html

you can also DIY a Cooltube for that 250w hps, get a glass hurricane 14" $10 shipped http://www.save-on-crafts.com/hurcanshad14.html then take your light socket and cut & bend a wire clothes hanger so the bulb sits inside the glass shade without it touching the sides of the glass. You could use two of the 75cfm 120mm computer fans to cool that hps, get 4" dryer hose to seal off the "cooltube"

thanks for this! i am in the process of designing my first build , would that pc fan you posted be strong enough to draw air through a CF!? and how loud/QUIET would it be?...my cab dimensions are

Width: 70 cm
Depth: 40 cm
Height: 72 cm

And how hard/easy is it to wire in the fan controller?
thanks

The delta fan on 100% power are fucking so loud, like a hovering helicopter but that's why you should use a fan controller to tame down the little beast. As far as wiring it to the fan controller, most of the delta fans just have bare leads so you would just buy a three pin molex kit and attach that to the fan controller, very easy.
