Question about moisture during germination

I planted my seeds directly into the soil medium for germination, and I made sure the soil was very moist. The soil I am using is supposed to have good water retention as well. My question is: should I go back soon and give the seeds more moisture? Originally I was planning on going back about a week from today, but if giving the seeds more moisture increases the germination rate, I'm willing to make the drive.

Thank you!

EDIT: There isn't going to be any precipitation until POSSIBLY tomorrow night, and even then it is something like 10%-30% chance of precipitation

I would go back an make sure its staying wet, if the soil dries out it wont germinate.
Place some light Mulch around the seed to keep the sun light from drying it out.

Sorry, an added note: my potting mix has spaghnum peat moss blended in for moisture retention, but I think I will go water them anyway if I have the time

Mist the top of the soil if you can, I find pouring water on can disturb the seed. I also use cling film over the top of the pot untill I can see the first bit of green sticking out the soil. helps keep the top moist

I actually did mist them, but thanks for the tip about putting cling film over the top!
