purple stains?

Im not sure if its bud rot, i had this issue before any buds popped, if you look in the 1 bud pic in back the fan leaf has that purpling on the parts of leaf, & stem. I used a magnifying glass, that coloration is in the plant tissue. No disrespect, dont mean to 2nd guess you, just want all info out there so our community can work together & figure it out
My understanding is that the open wounds created by the critters feeding allows the fungus into the plant. I have only seen this outdoors. Most often just as budding starts. I loose a few branches almost every year. Damn Gypsy moths here. But it something to consider in your quest. I cut it off. The entire branch. Doesn't re-appear after.

the main reason I'm not sure if this is something other than natural purpleing from the strains genetics is because its not occurring on all the plants of the same strain and only on a few tops, and not always the main. Also the way its forming on the fan leafs and i came across it earlier in the season when it was still in veg. I'm really just hoping I'm an idiot and its natural. The stems are not purple but the temperatures have been dipping into the 50s lately. I have never grown purple bud before so I'm not sure exactly what the bud should look like when forming. I'm under the impression bud changes color towards the end of flowering?

Looks like cool weather to me. This will happen often when there is a temperature change...View attachment 4694808View attachment 4694809

I wouldn't worry about it and I definitely wouldn't pull anything up, youll know bud rot when you see it, theres no mistaking rotten cotton, and often it begins deep in the bud, not on the outside, although I have seen both.
I used to use temp stress to lock up P to induce purple. 80's profit scam. Ashamed for it now. That started in the leaves and took days in the low 40's. There are a few possibilities.

These look like a trait not what OP pictured. Just trying to help. Thank you for jumping in. More the merrier. Peace.

Always good to hear from you @MICHI-CAN - yes, I use a high Phosphorus when they are taking off in flower, that and the dip in cool weather was what caused the leaf thing. I think the plant that turned purple is just some strain of purple kush maybe?? heres what happened to one leaf on my indica, im hoping that those purple buds fatten up a bit. Last year I had some purple that just looked ratty, I dont know how to describe it, no density, just thin fluff, was def weird. Do this long enough and you see strange things, I guess.
Peace from MA

Thank you. Good morning or afternoon to all. Take everything you know about plants as standard not law. Seen some unexplainable things in my journey in all plant types. Sometimes it's total chaos. Others and it is that gift you never got for X-mas. Keep growing and learning. Above all help when and where you can. Karma helps. Peace.

That does look like it could be some form of fungal issue. I'd remove it. If it was nutrient or temperature related it would likely be more widespread than just a few spots here and there on the plant.

These days if you want purple it's easy to get strains that purple on their own. 80's profit scams were common. We used to steam weed to add moisture which added weight. I'm not ashamed of it either. I was a young punk dude trying to make some money. I did what I did. :bigjoint:

No need for tricks to get purple when there are plenty of genetics available that purple on their own these days. PCK and anything with it in it's lineage will give you purple all day long. Top is a PCK. Middle is a Congo hybrid with PCK in it. Bottom is a PCK in flower. Green leaves but purple bud.

Damn mouse button stuck. LOL. But 30 years ago it was all gimmicks pretty much. And just a punk youngster trying to make it and generate some demand. Still not proud.

Really nice plants. Hoping to get a lucky pheno here. Too many strains already. Just greed if I obtain more.
