purple stains?

hey everyone, I have a plant problem... I wouldn't consider myself a newb but I cant find the answer to what is going on with my outdoors girls. I am in Mid Michigan of the lower peninsula and the plants are in flowering. the problem is that there are what looks like purple stains on the forming buds and splattering of purple on the fan leafs closest to the bud. I don't have any pictures because I panicked thinking it might be bud rot and got rid of the top. I am running 8 strains and I don't believe it is natural purpleing of the genetics because it has appeared on 3 different strains. the strains that look like they are infected (only one of each) are mandarin cookies R1 V2, Super lemon Haze, and Malawi moonshine. I will take a picture when I head out there if I see anymore. any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

the main reason I'm not sure if this is something other than natural purpleing from the strains genetics is because its not occurring on all the plants of the same strain and only on a few tops, and not always the main. Also the way its forming on the fan leafs and i came across it earlier in the season when it was still in veg. I'm really just hoping I'm an idiot and its natural. The stems are not purple but the temperatures have been dipping into the 50s lately. I have never grown purple bud before so I'm not sure exactly what the bud should look like when forming. I'm under the impression bud changes color towards the end of flowering?

Well since I got little help here, I'll post what I found in case anyone else has this problem. Purpleing can be brought on by a sudden phosphorus deficiency. If the temperature dropped to 50 degrees (F.) your plant will increase the up take-up of phosphorus and that will make plants turn purple. Damn, that took too long to figure out. Hope this helps someone else.

id also be interested to know, i thaught it was due to the full spectrum led bulb ive got my baby about an inch away from. my soil is brand new and pot was clean. started in soil and been under the bulb 24/7 ever since.
all leaves are doing well and growth is lush, but all leaves have a purpleish look to them.
sorry im no help with the problem

oops thanx wonder6977 can this happen with fresh soil is what i would like to know. go go

Yes, it can happen with fresh soil. The early changing of colors can often imply a nutrient deficiency, commonly lacking phosphorus. Because phosphorus is mostly used for photosynthesis, you can have lush growth with some discoloration. However, usually there are other symptoms associated with this such as redish purple stems. Keep in mind though that some genetics will allow for this to happen as a chosen trait. A few questions to ask are; Are your nutrients (assuming your using some) giving the correct N-P-K for the stage of growth your in? Do the strains you are growing do this naturally? do you have the PH adjusted for your strain? If you can upload a picture of the plant problem for others to see. Collectively as a community, I'm sure we can figure out whats up with your plant.

Hi, i too have the same issue, on my Super Lemon Haze. Same exact thing occurred same way first on fan leaves during veg, then on the budlets. One plant is totally covered with this issue. The one next to it has a couple branches facing it having that issue. I searched everywhere for a cause and came up with same answers. I don't believe any of them. I have supplemented NPK and i dont have any other plants showing any defeciencies. I have 5 different strains, only ones having this issue is 2 of 3 super lemon haze. This is a guerilla grow, so i only get out there every 7 to 10 days. Maybe issue with strain. I am wondering if is some kind of virus? It does seem to be stunting bud formation. Pics are from a start of Sept, now 3 1/2 weeks later, little to no movement. I am glad to finally see that i am not crazy & only person who has encountered this. May i ask where you got your seeds from?
(Ill provide pics later when i figure out how to remove embeded location info).

Yes you are right there are you feeding anything different change anything or did the plant get shocked in anyway I'm shooting in the dark here but I can see if we can work something out or someone else with the skills you need come along as always

Everything has been consistent. Ive been using A.N. grow bloom micro, and voodoo juice. May have had initial shock when i moved them to woods from being indoors, but made sure light cycle was identicle. Had minor trauma maybe during transport as i had to move them down stream via boat then haul 18 of them a foot tall back into the forest in a tote. (Now down to 14) I have found very little info other than usual info regarding defeciencies. I dont visit more than needed. Its rained plenty plus i haul 20 gallons of water back there atleast once a week, i amended soil with conpost, topsoil, bloodmeal and vermiculite to retain water, so had no issues wilting ect. I have no idea, this my 3rd guerilla wirh good seeds this time, the 2 other tines i used bag seed from mexican brick weed, got decent results with no intervention, other than dumping males. Any help is appreciated. Hope it aint a novel cannabis virus.....

The first pic is GG4 S1. Second is GG. Very healthy other than the caterpillar poop that did this. Not a def.. 031.jpg

Im not sure if its bud rot, i had this issue before any buds popped, if you look in the 1 bud pic in back the fan leaf has that purpling on the parts of leaf, & stem. I used a magnifying glass, that coloration is in the plant tissue. No disrespect, dont mean to 2nd guess you, just want all info out there so our community can work together & figure it out
